  • Morning everyone!

Interview yesterday went OK I think - I did need a little bit of prompting on stuff, and I'm not sure how well I did on the test as I had to slightly sacrifice word count for tone, but they did ask if I'd be available to come to a second interview next week if necessary, so hopefully it'll be good news!

I also have another interview for a similar job in two weeks which I need to call back about shortly, which is rather good - it's nice to feel like someone wants me and that I am actually good at what I do! So hopefully I should be heading off to the big smoke earlier than I expected to...

Anyways, I'm back in the office again today, and my outfit is:

    - Long sleeved purple scoop neck top (Dorothy Perkins)
    - Dark grey waistcoat with black buttons and deep V neck (vintage shop in York)
    - Charcoal grey wide leg trousers (French Connection)
    - Pewter metallic pumps with jewel detail (New Look)
    - Black flared wool mix military style coat (New Look) to come into work
    - Multicoloured stripy wool scarf, beanie hat and mittens (Accessorize) to come into work
    - Brown leather handbag (birthday present)
    - Usual jewellery

Hair is straightened (quite looking forward to getting it cut tomorrow now though!), perfume is Body Shop Aqua Lily and nail polish is Nails Inc South Molton Street as left over from yesterday.

In work until around five, then home to do my workout and possibly start studying for my next interview. There may also be some kind of takeaway involved.

    Happy Friday everyone!

Hurrah for Christmas! Bronnie, still can't see the missing apostrophe - unless you mean on '80s', where you don't actually need one anyway :)

I'm still in my PJs. It's OH's birthday today so we're going shopping for computer games (I'm sneaking into Primark for sure!) and for lunch. Shall update with my outfit when I get off my butt to get dressed!

Bron - the blogs will be there forever, unless you delete them or technology changes dramatically, I guess. You're so right, they'll be such a great slice of nostalgia for a modern age! How exciting!

Oooops! I'm cringing now 'cos I sound like the grammar police and I'm so NOT!! It was just a jokey remark, as I'm sure you knew 'cos I know you're quite attentive to these details!!! "Saturday we're....."....as if it matters!! :o:D

Reading November edition of Marie Claire, (MSE style in the hairdressers) and there is a 4 page article on the fashion blogista phenomenon! Get it right and apparently the top designers will have you on speed dial, canvassing your opinions!! Worth a read if it's still on the shelves and you've got a spare 10mins to stand in WH Smith or the supermarket! (Issue with Alexandra Burke in pink on the cover). The article suggests the following blogs
www.fashiontoast.com .................love the vintage furry jacket and metallic dress look on the second post, although things seem to get a bit weird after that...!!
    www.seaofshoes.com
    www.garancedore.fr
    www.showmeyourwardrobe.com

Just reporting them ........ haven't had time to check them out properly yet............!

Bronnie- it's crazy how much of a cult following those blogs above have! Seriously. If you get as far as reading some of the comments left
I've had a few mean anonymous comments in the past, but nothing on that scale!

(I've also had a few freebies from companies, still waiting on Marc Jacobs to call though...) :rotfl:

Thanks for the blog tips, Bronnie! I'll look forward to checking them out tomorrow afternoon.

Piratefairy - hope things seem better today. Remember that you spoke to your ex from the heart and you remained true to yourself .

Talking of blogs lurking in cyber space till time immemorial, one of my school pals has scanned our panoramic grammar school photo from when we were in the Upper Sixth in 1984 and posted it on Facebook. Everyone has identified where they are by their proximity to me (I had such huge 80's hair and stood out from the other 600 girls at school with me). :o

Just back from collecting my completed visa from the Indian High Commission and shall attempt to plan my outfit for this evening. It's got to incorporate yesterday's 1930's capelet and my handmade bird pendant but I'm not sure of anything else yet...I've far too many clothes.

    Today's outfit:
Vintage leopard print coat (£3 church fete)
Acid wash high waist skinny jeans (Sample)
Vintage black leather high boots (Car boot)
Vintage mesh sweater with sequin trim (Jumble sale)
    Purple slouchy hat (TopShop)
Navy leather oversize tote (Car boot)
Silver tribal bangles and rings (India)
H&M silver coloured tassel earrings (Car boot)
    Magenta leather gloves (Car boot)

    Have a lovely evening, gang!

Bronnie - NOOOOOO! There it is, staring at me, MOCKING me!!! Damn, can't believe I missed that. Yes, first time ever! You'd never know part of my job is proofreading... :o:rotfl: In my defence, today is my day off! ;)

I've just updated my blog with today's outfit, but here it is:

    Floral vest
    Polo neck
    Denim shorts
    Grey wool tights
    Brown brogues
    Gold hoop necklace

Those blogs... I follow quite a few and Fashion Toast is like the online fashion Bible, but to be honest, I find that extreme kinda fashion very hard to relate to. Could you rock up to Sainsbury's dressed like that? Would it work for 8 hours behind a desk?

I love Goanmad's style because it's so completely her and you can tell what she wears is a real representation of her personality, but I think the girls on those blogs are trying to look the way people think they should, rather than how they want to. I bet they change into jeans and t-shirts after the photos! :)

    100% this
I find fashiontoast a blog I read, more out of morbid curiosity than anything else.
I prefer ones that I can relate to,
    and get inspired by
    rather than think
    "WHY?!"

Hola! Hope you're all fine and dandy today. I've spent the morning screaming with frustration at my camera - it's finally given up the ghost and my back-up camera doesn't seem to like my laptop! Evil! So, although I managed to update my blog I can't add all the pretty things I made to my jewellery store today. I'm going to visit my Mum and steal her camera tonight though, so hopefully we'll be back on track for tomorrow! Don't you just hate it when technology fails you?!

    Anyway, here's today's:

    Denim pencil skirt
    Brown jersey top
    Dusky pink cardi
Brown brogues (totally obsessed with these)
    Grey ribbed tights
    Handmade Victorian lady necklace
    Brown plaited belt

We're going to see Up at the cinema in a while - bit behind with our movie-going so really looking forward to it. Another meal out tonight - yay!

    Happy Saturday! xx
