Hi girls,
So sorry I haven't been around. Everything has been truly manic, both at work and home, and I can't wait for the weekend!! Had a bit of a health scare (lump in my breast), but turns out to be all fine - which was a huge relief as you can imagine. Just feeling rather tired and run down at the moment due to being so busy - I'm not a winter person, I'm craving sunshine, warmth and long days already.
Clothes: well I bought a fab party dress in Tesco last week for the grand price of £5! It's a dark blue, not quite navy, satin dress which will be ideal for Christmas parties and probably Christmas day too with a cardie and some nice tights. I'm on the look out for some black shoes and hopefully some black high heeled ankle boots.
Today I'm wearing:
teal jumper dress - H&M last year
black opaques
brown biker boots - Next
black bead bracelets - Primark
cream coat - Next
Very pleased with the coat as it says dry clean only, but it's 3 years old now and still has lots of life in it, but was daft to buy cream as it's cost me a fortune to dry clean! So I bunged it in the washing machine with some non bio and on a wool wash, and it's like new :j.0 -
Claire- I'm so glad everything is fine with your health, I can only imagine how worried you must have been.0

Thanks Daisybella. It totally freaked me out to be honest! I started thinking the worst, and my dd is only 3, so I'm sure you can imagine... Anyway the doc thinks it's perfectly harmless, but have to go back in 3 months for another check.
How're are you??0 -
I'm good
being utterly lazy and still sat here in PJs and new hooded dressing gown (present from my Mum) thinking I probably should get started on my day!0 -
Make the most of it!!! I would if I could - but work calls... everyday  lol.
Grammargirl - love the new blog!0 -
Finally dressed!
1/2 sleeve floral print tea dress: H&M

claire, thank goodness. We all need to check, regularly? Possibly one of the best Money saving style tips is to take care of our ''assets'' and know them well.
Its so interesting that how we feel, physically, mentally can play out in our cothes/presentation or even be impacted on by it: I get through a day with more enthusiasm if I feel rotten but look good than if I feel rotten and look rotten. I'm trying very hard to remember this ATM. My medication change starts tomorrow, which I'm very happy about.
I've been putting off buying a new jacket/coat for doing the outside work in, thinking I'll wait till I've shed some of this weight, but I've decided to go ahead and look for one on Saturday, because its always good to have spare coats for guests anyway.0 -
Claire, great news, and it's good they're going to keep an eye on things as well. That must be a weight off your mind.
Goanmad, loving the big button brooch - might have to "borrow" that idea!
Min, well done on the job.
I'm another absentee come back to the fold - I've had the mother of all colds (always get one a year) and still feel like hell at the moment. I've managed a half-hearted lurk the last few days, but I always have the attention span of a goldfish when I don't feel well.
Consequently, I am not the epitome of style and glamour today!
black leggings
charcoal tshirt
lilac Uggs
massive black cardigan - actually its more like a coat but I'm cold, despite the heating being on
Got a load of stuff I really should be listing on ebay, whether it gets done today is another matter!
Have a good day folks.0 -
Sorry to hear about your scare, Claire. Thank goodness the outcome was a positive one.
Hope you're feeling a bit better today, LostinRates and Piratefairy, too, if you're about. Get well soon, Judgejaq, I've missed you this week!
I've been car booting this morning (finds updated on blog) and looking forward to a jumble sale later. I've got a couple of creative projects on the go this afternoon, I should crack on with eBay but I've been inspired and must get these ideas out of my system!
Today's outfit:
"Global Traveler" shift dress in black and cream batik print with a huge purple quilted and sequinned diamond patch at the front (£2 sample sale)
Grey and black leopard leggings (New Look kid's dept £1.50)
Black over-the-knee socks (market)
Black boyfriend cardi in angora (TopShop via boot sale 50p)
Silver filgree earrings (Ex-H&M via boot sale 50p)
Silver tribal bangles and rings (India)
I did have on a vintage purple leather coat (Chazza £3), vintage navy wellies (Chazza £2.95), Purple beenie slouch hat (TopShop £1) and green armwarmers (pressie) but a bit impractical for sitting in the house!
Happy thursday!0 -
