Wearing (on a miserable day)
Lilac floral tea dress: Primark via ebay
Grey tights: New Look
Grey knitted cape: New Look
Black patent low heel Mary Jane shoes: New Look
and when I go out, heather/purple trench coat: TK MAXX0 -
Today I'm just wearing black jeans from M&Co and a purple long-sleeve top from Matalan (looks like 2 tops worn layered IYKWIM), but have put on a new bra and the difference is amazing! Baps are now jacked a good couple of inches higher and for a generously-boobed lady (34G) I look almost pert!!
Trouble is I can feel I'm wearing it....will it get more uncomfortable as the day goes on? Anyway, am pleased with the aesthetics so off to surf M&S website for more of the same0 -
Morning folks! Another grey rainy day here as well. It was so cold this morning and I was so cosy in bed I just did not want to get up at all.
Well, yesterday's smart look lasted all of one day and today I'm back to comfy. Todays outfit:
slouchy boyfriend jeans (New Look sale)
black long sleeve fine cotton tshirt (New Look, two for £4)
red checked shirt (New Look sale)
Fitflop billows (it's like wearing my slippers to work!)
dark blue duffel coat
no jewellery apart from my lovely big vintage watch (back from having the clasp fixed)
Suppose I better show willing and do some work now!
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all!
No chance of queuing for visa this morning as BF had to help out at an event last night and didn't get back till the wee hours. It's vile here so I've forfeited Aquasize for an eBay blitz to try and upload the backlog of clothes and sell it before we go away.
Today's very uninspired outfit:
Strappy body-con denim mini (sample sale)
Customised laddered leggings (Car boot and some strategically placed scissor cuts)
Vintage elasticated corset belt with a bejewelled gold buckle (Chazza shop)
Black long sleeved teeshirt (Car boot)
Huge brass hoop earrings (Car boot)
Brass bangles and wooden rings (Car boot)
Hair in big mussed-up bun on side of head
Hope everybody has a good day despite the weather!

Morning all!
Work again today - fairly quiet though at the moment. Which is good but in a way a bit annoying, I want something to do!
Anyways, today's outfit is:
- Two in one dress with grey scoop neck long sleeved top and black and hot pink flared knee length skirt (New Look)
- Black tights (M&S)
- Black Mary Jane shoes with chunky heels (M&S)
- Black wool mix military style flared jacket (New Look)
- Multicoloured stripy wool scarf, beanie hat and mittens (Accessorize - it's cold up north!)
- Brown leather handbag (birthday present)
- Usual jewellery
Perfume and nail polish are same as yesterday. Hair is straightened and then roughed up a bit with dry shampoo, although I am going to call my hairdresser later as I want a new hairstyle but am not sure what - I'm thinking maybe slightly shorter than I have now but the same kind of style, like a rockier take on the 20s bob. Or does that sound really stupid?
In work until five or half past, then home to chill out and start getting sorted for going to London at the weekend.

Minerva- hairstyle idea does lovely to me.
I haven't had my hair cut for almost a year, it's in desperate need, but I hate being fussed over0 -
Good evening to you all. LiR, glad your eye is on the mend! I'm loads better today but have a terrible hacking cough! And I had my first ever filling, which was horrible and a bit sad for my once-perfect teeth. Although it was only a baby one and I didn't need an injection. Still, not nice!
I've updated my blog, so here's today's:
Leopard print dress
Purple cardigan
Purple tights
Brown studded boots
Nameplate necklace
Big black heart shaped ring
Happy Tuesday!0 -
What can I say but thank you to the people who took time out to help me look for cruise-clothes........I can see I came to just the right place for advice.
Lostinrates - we have a Monsoon outlet shop fairly nearby, so I will definitely be looking there after your advice. I like the sound of the cashmere boleros, I'm sure that would cover up the bits I hate. I was hoping to get away without buying an actual dress, do you really think I'd have to have one? We're cruising to Alaska, so will want something to cover far more than my knees to help me keep warm
judgejaq - thanks for reminding me about Per Una, I'd forgotten all about them. Appreciate the tip about the discount codes too
Grammar Girl - Ay-up flower :rotfl: You're right about Monsoon, though I'm afraid I've never heard of Mango, but since I feel a trip to Jct 32 coming on, I shall certainly have a look cos floaty with pretty embellishments is just what I'm looking for. Mmm, I'd forgotten about MacArthur Glen too, and I got my Mother-of-the-Bride outfit there a few years ago. Thank you for some good ideas
Bronnie - Excellent, thanks for the links, there's some lovely things there. Trouble is I expect to see the model in the photos looking back at me when I look in the mirror whilst wearing the outfit, only to be disappointed every time :rotfl: I'm loving the idea of the long, wide evening trousers with different tops to mix and match....thank you.
You're all very knowledgeable and I really do appreciate your help :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Glad we all helped. re dress, hmm, how about looking in the literature/holiday brochure?
I don't know really about dress codes anymore, everyone ignores them...which was only cool IMO if you were the only one ignoring them..:o. TBH, I'd take one dress which could be dressed up or down as required: a maxi dress for example, but if you don't want to I'd check with the people ou booked it through about any dress codes.0 -
