Hurrah! My eye is a lot better too....now I have a funny blood blister thing in my mouth  it never ruddy ends.
still: Life goes on! I'm hiding aroun the house today, apart from doing the animals: noone needs to see me without mascara on.And it is bitter, but its dry, and cold and dry is wonderful weather:weather for best hats and gloves and suede can be worn, lots and lots of layers.
On that note, my car died today so I'm now going to have to drive DH's all the time, which has NO heating  in black winter mornings I love the car heating on my feet.socks are my new best friends I think!

Well, what can I say: I'm well past the age of consent, lol and the body shape is not what it was so I'm looking for something that will skim over the lumpy bits without making it look as though that's what I'm doing IYKWIM (size 16). Colour doesn't really matter but I'm not looking for tailored stuff. Something pretty and feminine, perhaps with a wrap or bolero to cover the tops of my arms.
I live in Yorkshire, not too far from Junction 32 where there's a Klass, Roman Originals and Autonomy so I should be able to find something there, but that elusive 'something special' doesn't seem to be instore at the moment.
I have looked on eBay, in fact I've bid on a couple of things but there seems to be a problem with Goofbay whaich has meant I missed them while I wasn't around to watch the auction. I haven't seen a Littlewood's clearance around here - sounds interesting!
Thanks for your input, hope I've given a few clues as to what I'm after, though I don't really know myself (sorry I'm so awkward, lol).
Hi consultant31!
Kaleidoscope have lots of the sort of soft trousers/tops I think you might be looking for. They're not all particularly cheap, but I'm posting the links for inspiration foremostly. There's certainly lots of suggestions there for a 'womanly' figure!!
I love this!

To me, the versatile basic would be a pair of very well-fitting cream/ivory/white lined eveningy trousers, long and wide enough to skim the floor when worn with metallic strappy shoes with heels (you could get away with cheapy shoes!). Instantly dressy! These would be an investment piece for the future and worth getting right!
I would then be scouting round for a few bargain dressy tops or strappy silky camis with a loose floaty jacket top over to ring the changes with the trousers. You can contrast the trousers with a deeper shade top in black or chocolate, or wear them with lighter colours, bright colours or metallics for several different looks, for example;

BTW that tie fastening on the cardi on the last link could be easily improvised on a plain cardi type top with a floaty scarf, with the added bonus that the ends of the scarf drape down and cover the tummy (for those of us who think about such things!)
The outlet village type places, especially the shops the girls have already mentioned will be great as they will have more out-of-season stock, so you should be able to find less wintryand less christmassy looking stuff there.
Happy shopping!

I'm liking the cruise trousers Bronnie suggested, (not that I wear trousers, but if I did, I'm sure I'd wear that kind)
Today is horribly rainy, and I;ve started off with a headache, so god knows how bad it will be when I've done a day in the office and a shift at the new job..
Today's outfit was based around the fact I had no time to change the colour of my nails..

Black leggings
Red cardi with black collar and cuffs and a black sequin poodle, New Look
Black jewelled pumps, falling apart, Topshop
Black scarf, H&m
Greeny teal pixie hood jacket as it was raining when I left the house, Topshop0
