Hi all, been away for the weekend, will post a couple of the weekend outfits on the blog as a catch up..
Hope evryone's okay, at least it's not too bad for a Monday
Today's outfit..
Mustard skirt with cream paisley pattern (Tesco, about £12)
Gold vest top (New Look, ancient, and with a hole on the back so have to keep the cardi on, about £4 I believe)
Black leggings, £3 Primark
Black topshop cardi, £28. Needs replacing!!
Bronze "Spatz" ankle boots, Irregular Choice via ebay, gift from an ex..
Gold bangle, 50p Primark,
Gold / cream / chain effect necklace, £4 Accessorize sale.
Taupe (?) coloured woolen fingerless mittens, £3 Accessorize sale.
Vintage faux croc handbag, £2.99 Red Cross shop last week (was supposed to be £12.99 according to the tag, but on the receipt it looks like she made a mistake..I wondered how it had come to £25 for all the goodies I hauled last week!!)
I basically chose the bag, and built the outfit around it..Mental, I know..0 -
Sounds perfectly rational to me piratefairy
I'm feeling super cheerful about my wardrobe at the moment, having spent the weekend hauling everything out and trying it on. I'm pleased to report that everything now either fits or is too big (with the exception of a gorgeous vintage midnight blue velvet blazer that is my target piece of clothing). Also spent a useful hour sewing buttons on things and stitching up holes in seams and then I got taken shopping and have stocked up on some new basic long sleeve tops and jeans which I was in desperate need of. I'm feeling so much more confident, it's amazing what losing a bit of weight does for you
I also bought some new glasses on Friday night. Cost £265 for two pairs _pale_ but as I wear them all day everyday I'm trying to kid myself that it's actually not that bad. I don't think I've ever shelled out so much on anything appearance related in my life!
Today's outfit is:
Black cowboy boots
Indigo jeans
Long line slash neck black top
Grey cardi with detailing along the buttons
Grey fluffy scarf
Silver & diamond earrings
Silver and quartz chunky ring0 -
Afternoon everyone - its cold today. Winters setting in I think - cant believe its getting dark now about half 5!! Where has the year gone?!
Day 4 of a 6 day run today... then 9 days off - yay!
Today's outfit:
Mid-blue skinny jeans (these are from Asda and were a gift from my mum about three years ago. Or possibly more. I hardly wear them so I thought I would give them an airing today!)
Pink top with silver print and white faux straps (Yours originally but free from step-MIL's friend)
Cream socks with red hearts (£3, Topshop)
and my white and baby blue Nikes.
No jewellery as usual but perfume is CK1.
Hope everyone having a good day!! xx*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Today's outfit:
Purple Cardigan
Green and purple granny shawl (50p from charity shop)
Grey aran knit jumper dress (Asda but I've altered it by removing some buttons off the pockets)
Green tights
Grey boots
I don't know if anyone else does this, but a good idea for getting rid of unwanted clothes and acquiring new ones is to hold a clothes swap. I have had two. The first was at a public venue, the second privately as that venue had shut. We all get together, friends and friends of friends, bring some clothes we don't want and all find clothes we do want off other people. It's also a great place to share some fab food and girly chat. I came away from the last one with some amazing blue kitten heeled shoes, two dresses and two scarves. I'll be having another one soon, likely to be after christmas.0 -
Hey lovely ladies, so an update on the over the knee boots situation, I got the matalan ones! I have to say they are nice quality fake suede for £24. The only thing I would be aware of if anyone else considers them is the fit.
Now I'm a size 10-12 and so don't have exceptionally skinny legs but I have to say the straps on these boots are ridiculously long. However the boots themselves (up to the strap part) are I would say an average calf size, which means the straps hang down and look funny and they wouldn't fit someone with a larger calf anyway, think matalan went a bit crazy there.
And it isn't just a case of adding a few extra holes for the buckle I had to actually shorten the buckle strap by up to 2 inches (as well as adding new holes to the strap).
But now that I have they fit nicely, and just thought I'd warn anyone considering them to def try them on.
Anyway, I'm going to brave wearing them today and have tried to tone down the slight hookerishness by teaming them with:
Floral print tunic (Dorothy Perkins via ebay £6)
Black blazer style cardi (Topshop viza ebay £5)
Black boyfriend tuxedo blazer (Free, gift)
Black snood (Tesco £5)
Black supposed to be opaque but aren't (does anyone know where you can get actually opaque tights? £3.50 for 3 pack Matalan)
Happy Monday! xxStarted Comping 25th September 2013.

Erichamster, sounds like you got the outfit just right to go with the boots - funnily enough, I was just reading the Sunday Times Style mag and there was an article on what to wear with over the knee boots and it was pretty much your outfit.
GG I love that cute mustard beret!
Well, it's a pretty dank and dismal day here, grey and drizzly so I'm going nowhere - plenty to be done around the house anyway.
Currently wearing black cropped yoga pants, indigo tshirt and grey Uggs. Also wearing an old cashmere man's cardie that I customised. It was way too big so I washed it on a hot setting and now it's gone thick and almost felted, lovely and cosy. I replaced the buttons and put a different coloured one for every buttonhole.0 -
Afternoon all!
Bit of a mental day at work (again, I know...) but today's outfit is:
- Long sleeved white shirt (M&S)
- Black scoop neck tank top (Dotty P's jumper cut up)
- Black pinstripe straight leg trousers (Dotty P's)
- Silver ballet pumps with jewels (New Look)
In work til about fiveish then home to do my workout and chill out, and possibly work on my Civil Service application.

JudgeJaq- your cardigan sounds wonderful, I love customised things.
Everyone sounds like they look lovely as usual.
I'm so tempted to crawl back in to PJs as I've not been anywhere yet today,
but I'm going food shopping later and would likely forget I was wearing bed clothes and go out like that. Hmm.0 -
Hello all! Hope everybody has had a groovy weekend.
I had a lovely slow walk to yoga this morning kicking the Autumn leaves like a child. I sung along to random tracks on my MP3 player at the top of my voice and after a super-challenging yoga session feel like my chi has been restored.
I really should be cracking on with eBay today but after wrapping what felt like hundreds of parcels all I want to do is settle down with the Guardian crossword and a mug of Ayurvedic tea.
Today's outfit:
Teal Punjabi pants (Sample sale £2)
Teal ribbed vest with pale grey vest worn over it (TopShop via car boot sale)
Tooled leather cowboy boots
Silver tribal bangles and rings (India)
Tear-drop shaped earrings threaded with lime and turquoise string (India)
TopShop grey military jacket (5 years old and still going strong)
Vintage Liberty silk scarf (£2 car boot sale - pictured on today's blog posting)
Tan leather holdall with silk paisley panels (25p car boot sale)
JudgeJaq - We seem to share the same tastes in clothing, home decor and festivals and we're both in our forties, thank goodness there's somebody else like me in the world! I adore all of Tretchikoff's ladies - the two I've got were lucky finds.
Have a great rest of the day, gang! XXX0
