Why did I never do mad tights before? Next week is gonna be mad-tights week!
I have an extremely plain and boring, but snug and extremely flattering Sainsbury's Tu black sweater dress that cost me £6 in the sale last winter . My challenge next week is to give it 3 different looks with (cheapo) mad tights! Thanks for the inspiration LIR and Daisy!
Thanks for the eyeshadow suggestions , girls! DD has an enormous palette of make-up colours from years ago ( but a bit cheapo IYKWIM) ,had a play with the colours this afternoon. I put a bright purple on the lids, which def made the eyes 'pop' and loved it. I tried a dark purple as goanmad suggested and managed a fab smoky look. You know, I loved both looks! Going shopping tomorrow and will treat myself from the BOURGOIS range (thanks goanmad!) with Boots points. Need to get some eye make-up brushes/ applicators too. I have taken the safe neutral option with make-up over the last few years. Shame on me! Getting hair done at the hairdressers tomorrow, don't know what he's going to come up with. I think the final eye-make-up will be a last minute decision, depending how I feel!
Thanks so much, sisters!

EDIT TO ADD
have just read Sharron's No Spend thread, and they're all getting excited about their tights too!0 -
hey peeps, today is the student off uni, so i'm wearing:
Falmer jeans from matalan via ebay
funnel neck fleece hoodie from peacocks
t-shirt from river island
undies from debenhams and peacocks
weather socks
i have a bit of a dilemma, am going to bournemouth with the oh, and we're going out for the evening and trying to decide what to wear. Definitely wearing:
nice undies
heeled boots (about knee high)
possibly skinnies (either blue or black)
but I don't know what to wear with them, im thinking a corset with naff all on over it except a coat but dont know if ill look a slapper or not** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Bronnie- mad tights rule! Perhaps I'll break out some of my more daring pairs and join you
Elfen- wear something that makes you feel both comfortable and confident, that's my only advice
Far toooo early here. Working this morning and woke up to the trauma of the kettle not working
I don't function without at least two coffees before work. Made one in the microwave which was epic fail,
so I'm heading in to work early to get one, or two there.
Wearing:
work uniform.
Planned for later:
Lilac floral vintage style dress: Primark via ebay
Grey tights: New Look
Black ballet flats
Over size denim shirt
Bit of a mis match but its early and I don't want to lug too much to work with me (visiting grandparents after!)
Have a great Saturday!0 -
Morning girls. I'm loving the 'mad tights' discussions - colourful tights are my absolute wardrobe staples for autumn/winter and I'm so glad you all agree! I had a look on tightsplease.com and found a pair covered with pictures of cats... mental! Amercian Apparel has some great colours, I've got a 15% off code so will be stocking up come payday. I also saw some fab dusky pink woolly ones in H&M, who are also really good for tights. Most of mine are from M&S and Accessorize.
Anyway! It's the weekend, hooray! I've got such a busy day... really need to clean the flat, then going charity shopping and for lunch with a friend, then another friend is coming over for X Factor, wine and gossip tonight! It's my brother's birthday tomorrow so the whole family is squishing into the flat for afternoon tea and present exchange. Happy days!
Here's mine for today:
Skinny jeans
Brown jersey top with lace corsage
Dusky pink long line cardigan
Green bow pumps
Green floral print scarf
Pink lace and pearl corsage headband
Owl face ring
Wooden bangle
Tan leather bag
And possibly my cream mac for later. Hope you all have fabulous weekends!0 -
So I have decided not to post on here on a working day as I am only ever in my boring uniform which does not look that hot!! So day off today and I am wearing:-
Bright blue floaty tunic top- Not sure where it was from but it was a bargain!!!
Dark blue bootleg jeans- Dotty P's
Black Rocketdog knee length boots
Cream knee length coat- Jane Norman (best buy of this year)
Not very inspiring today but going to see my parents so not doing much. Have a fab Saturday everyone xxMarried 1st October 2015:heartpuls

Sounds like a fab outfit, skint! I love cream coats, they're so classic and go with everything.
Just updated my blog, if you'd like to pay me a visit and see my cream coat for the day!0 -
Love all the blog's ladies, keep it up.
GrammarGirl you are my inspiration for the coloured tights after reading your blog, now have green, purple, wine, berry, teal, mocha, red, black, brown and navy. Love your yellow ones they look fab with your outfit.
I have a mac similar to yours bought from EBay Ted Baker for a tenner and it is fab I love it.0 -
Because I'm on nights tonight its a pyjama day today and then uniform tonight.
Having a major revamp of my wardrobe at the mo. Usual wear is jeans with everything but am experimenting with leggings and after reading all your comments may try coloured tights. Of course that will mean having to wear a dress/skirt combo. Tights would be a good way of adding colour to my black/grey wardrobe.
I'm stepping outside my comfort zone and this thread is brilliant for inspiration and tips.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -
Hi everyone :hello:
I've just found this thread and am finding it very useful as I've lost two stone and am starting to buy new clothes after only wearing what I could fit into for the past years.
I'm loving the coloured tights but have a question. I haven't worn dresses or tights for years but used to have problems with jersey type material clinging to the tights and riding up, how do you stop this?0
