Hi Gwen,
opening parcels is a great way to chillLove the sound of the focus group, but given that my weight loss is about as speedy as your Hastings Vouchers, perhaps I shouldnt ...

Forgot to say, but I applied for a focus group yesterday. £150 to eat sweets/chocolate...given that I've applied for loads of focus groups and never been accepted I don't think my chances are great, but it'd be fab if I did get it!
Wow fingers crossed... that's more than the ones we commission pay and I'm afraid we can't offer you sweets and chocolate - boring healthcare people grr!

Thanks Gwen, I'm still in a state of shock!! I'm sure that will turn to panic when I realised I've got to deal with things like solicitors, mortgages, leases etc etc
I think you are right to be persistent - you are owed those vouchers...why shouldn't they stick to their side of the deal.
So how did your Oasis delivery work out???I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

I did nothing yesterday
Nothing at all
I think I needed it though, I was sooo tired. I need to get on with things today though. Loads to do. I will be writing a list, as I have no focus without one and spend the whole day wandering round going 'What am I meant to be doing? What am I meant to be doing??'...so...
- Attempt to fix hoover - Think it's sorted
- Check banking - Half done
- Sort out the ongoing mess of my finances since NW move - Pretty much done, but complete nightmare
- Sort out my laptop, which is doing strange things - Downloaded software to memory stick to use on my laptop
- List more things on Amazon
- Read pension info...still
- Look for carpet cleaner...I want to do my carpets, Mum wants to do hers, they cost about £40 a go to hire, plus their expensive shampoos. Me and Mum are going halves and I think it'll work out cheaper in the long run... - Ongoing...posted on in the home money saving forum
- Look for organic hair dye/henna type stuff - Ongoing...posted on health and beauty money saving forum
- Catch up with emails
I think that's probably enough for the moment.
Oh yes, the Oasis parcel delivered me a lovely black leather across the body handbag. It was £45, but with the 20% discount, was £36
My router has arrived from Plusnet, so I'll need to sort that out this week.
The focus group does sound like a total dream. I think they send you chocolate/sweets for five days (I get paid for this???), you have to write a blog about them, then you go for a 2 or 3 hour (can't remember which) focus group. If you do all of it, it's £150, but I think some people just do the focus group and they only get £80. It's still a lot of money. I won't get it though, I've applied for loads and never got them. Would be nice though.
Life is pretty boring this month since I seem to have spent quite a lot of money and not seen a whole lot for it. I bought a new shower head and hose from Triton (£43), paid £24 deposit for my friends hen do, paid £24 to join a charity (which I did actually really want to do), £13 on books (some for Mum for Mother's Day) from Amazon and £25 for a new charger for my laptop. I've also spent about £40 at the chiropodist to get my feet looking pretty ready for Spring and of course, the handbag. So all in all, not a lot of fun is being had this month, but I've got a few things sorted out at least.
You'll be fine makeup. It is a bit of a stressful process though, but you're a first time buyer and there's no chain, so should be pretty straightforward. Just make sure you get yourself a good solicitor...mine were carp

The handbag sounds lovely :j
The list isn't too daunting today - but try to add in something nice for you tooSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Oh my God. I'm so confused. Trying to sort out the mess that's been made by my Nationwide move. It seems that I have attempted to transfer over £300 at the end of January from Nationwide to A&L, but both my HSBC and A&L accounts have been credited, despite the money only leaving my Nationwide account once  !!!!!! is going on???
Also, I attempted to send £20 to my A&L account in January and for some reason it didn't work, except that my statement doesn't show it leaving my account...only coming back in, so it's generated an extra £20  It's all well and good at the moment, I'm in pocket, but it could all go badly wrong if they want this money back at any point because I've only just noticed
I can't be doing with their incompetence anymore. I just want my £50 (although some would argue I've already had it) and I want to leave. They've made a TOTAL mess of moving my account over, never known anything like it. I'd like to be with a bank that can transfer over quickly and efficiently without missing vital payments off, can actually manage the account and gives an accurate balance. Is that too much to ask??

I know!! At the moment, I'm in pocket, but if they ask for it back now, I'm a bit stuffed.:eek:
I just want to leave. It's 2010, how are banks still this carp??Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Ok. That really wasn't such a productive weekend and as I have no money, I think I should be, so that when I do, I can go out and enjoy it!
I'm struggling with motivation, but I'm going to try and get a few things done during the week. So...guess what??? A list!!
- Read pension info...!!!!!! just do it Gwen!
- Cancel mbna card - I have to call back when I get my next statement
- Cancel Barclaycard - Done
- Order carpet shampooer
- Bookmark blood pressure monitor for purchase after pay day - Done
- Bookmark organic hair dye for purchase after pay day - Done
- Catch up with emails
- Sort out issues with laptop - Done
- Set up Plusnet broadband
- Investigate getting a new fixed rate mortgage
I realise I write a lot of lists, but I honestly don't know what I'm doing without them. Also a lot of these annoying piddly little jobs are things that I really should have sorted out earlier except I was too skint and/or lazy. Now as I trying to get my act together they really need to be sorted, so it probably does appear that I have a lot of jobs to do, but it's because I've been putting them all off forever. I don't want to be skint anymore and I don't want to be disorganised. I think I'm getting there. My ridiculously long mental list of things to do is getting a little bit shorter
