Would it be worth using your renovation fund to get one room, living room or bedroom maybe, beautiful and then shut the door on the rest for a while. Hopefully then you will have one area of your house where you can relax and feel 'at home'. I do understand, I grew to hate my previous house in the months before I moved here and it's very unsettling to have nowhere that feels like a 'sanctury' :A

I'm deliberating borrowing some money from Mum to move out for a few months and just get the place sorted. I'll reach my target in the next two months, but that doesn't cover the living room. I'm starting to wonder about getting a room somewhere or a studio flat, borrowing some money from Mum and getting some builders to blitz the place.

Yep, I totally hate this place and it's incredibly unsettling to not feel like you have a 'home'. That's half the reason I ended up in this mess. I used to go to the shops because I dreaded coming home :o

That sounds like a good plan - you can't put a price on your health and peace of mind :A

Morning!

Thank God, it's the weekend. That felt like the longest week ever. Didn't help that work was carp and I was feeling really blue.

Feeling a bit better today though (funnily enough, because it's Saturday :D).

Not much to report moneywise really. I called Hastings Direct yesterday about the annoying fuel vouchers and they said that I'm on some list to have them sent out, but if I don't get them by the end of March, they'll send me a cheque for £30. I highly doubt I'll get the vouchers given that they haven't materialised over the last 6 months, so I've pencilled in 31st March on my calendar and I look forward to speaking to them then :D

I've managed to get over 90% in my savings target, which I'm pretty pleased with :j I should reach 100% in the next couple of months

I've got quite a bit to do, so might write a list shortly, but I'm going to try and give myself a bit of time to chill out as well.

It is so depressing isn't it at how tenacious you have to be sometimes just to get money that is owed to you!

I put in a claim for Statutory Sick Pay once, I think the final amount was about £100 but it took over 6 months of calling, writing, chasing etc to get it...so frustrating.

Well done on pursuing Hastings Direct, I'm sure they've lots of customers who have just written it off. I'm sure your persistence will pay off!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

_party_Congratulations on the flat!!!_party_

I was going to post on SAID, but I'll post it here. Fantastic news! So pleased for you!

I know, it is soo frustrating, but I'm like a dog with a bone with things like that. I'm not sure it's always to my benefit, but I just won't let things like that drop :o

Forgot to say, but I applied for a focus group yesterday. £150 to eat sweets/chocolate...given that I've applied for loads of focus groups and never been accepted I don't think my chances are great, but it'd be fab if I did get it! :D
