Oh my God, Rosa! That's so bad! What a piece of poo!

Yes it is... but given that it was my ex-best friend he married (who had interfered throughout our relationship and I'd ignored all my instincts) it couldn't have happened to a nicer person :D:D isn't karma great? :rotfl:

I did think about forwarding it but decided to keep it to myself just so I can smile knowingly at him if I ever bump into them :rotfl:. Still makes me laugh though.

I'm sure there are better men out there, I just need to find one!

The messages? Must admit to having had similar thoughts myself regarding the work creep. It'd cause a whole load of grief for me aswell though. Plus I'm sure karma will even things up eventually! :D

Totally agree. There must be, my friends all seem to have found nice ones (well most of them :o), we will find some good ones too!

:j Quick post cos I need to get some dinner. Sooo excited! My council tax band has been moved down!!!

I'm hoping they'll backdate it to when I bought the house and I'll get a nice cheque, but not sure if that's what they normally do or not. At the very least it's a reduction in my council tax bills from here on. V.v.pleased, feels like my luck's changing at last :D I :heart2: Martin Lewis :money:

Must go and find the thread where people post their success stories...

FANTASTIC NEWS.....:j:j:j:j:j Your perseverence (sp) has paid off, good on you!!!

I'm really really pleased for ya! I hope it doesn't take too long to find out if it's backdated or not, least then you'll know one way or another. I don't blame you for getting your hopes up, I keep doing the same re child maintenance even though I know in the back of my mind that it just isn't going to happen.

Rosa it sounds as though you've definitely had a lucky escape! Just a shame it doesn't always feel like that.

I love Karma too, it's one thing I definitely believe in

    Hi Bowski

Sorry, wasn't ignoring your post, just got caught up in the council tax rebanding excitement!
Sorry to hear about your bad working week... I hope you recovered over the weekend and have a much better week ahead of you!

Did you go and see your friends baby? Aww I love babies...well for few minutes anyways. I think I'd have one if they stayed like that! I love the smell of them. I babysat all weekend but I actually enjoyed it. The kids were fantastic and I also had my nephew Friday all day which I really enjoyed, he's my favourite boy in the world I don't want him to grow up into one of those horrible men things!

Yes, I did recover thanks. This week is better so far, except a dodgy tummy today. Feeling a bit better now though and have just managed a sandwich. Sounds like your weekend turned out well! Are you all ready for Christmas? I'm nearly there...

No, I didn't go to visit my friend in the end, I had lots to do and she was really tired (not surprisingly ) so I'll probably visit between Christmas and New Year with the cute little outfit I've got :D
Christmas sounds good, I don't think you can beat having time of over christmas. You need time to recharge don't ya. I wouldn't worry about doing any jobs, I think you should be totally selfish and chill out. Plenty of time to do jobs come January, and you'll be all geared up for it again then.

What are your thoughts re job at the moment? What are your options?

Yeah, I definitely need to recharge...I feel a bit like I'm running on empty at the moment. I do need to get some jobs done over Christmas though because I sometimes find it hard to find time to do things while I'm working. I end up working long hours rather more than I'd like to  and it can be quite pressured, so often end up getting to the weekend, totally shattered. I need to get the balance right with my time off though, not too much relaxing, not too many jobs and see all the people I want to see.

I don't really have many thoughts about the job situation at the moment, which is why I need to think about it. I guess I have quite a few options open to me...I could look for another similar job...go back to Uni and do something else/retrain...look to move into a completely different field...I guess I'm quite lucky to have these options open to me. The only thing is some of those options might require moving and I have this house which is in a state. I guess all the more reason to sort the finances out  I don't know, I'm hoping my life will come together at some point :o
I am looking forward to christmas I always do, but this year's going to be a good one. I've got my friends 30th on boxing night, we're going to the party in a limo and I've got a ball gown  I've never wore anything like it before as I'm not girlie and never have been but I'm really looking forward to dressing up. I love a good boogie though and not sure how I'm going to dance in a proper dress, I'm imagining having to sway rather than wiggle if that makes sense :rotfl: I might have to put it on and practice :D Then NYE I've going to see my Daddy :j:j I've not seen him since July so it'll be great to spend quality time with him. Then on the 2nd of Jan I'm going to Sunderland to watch the football, I'm not sure if you're a football fan or not but it's the FA cup and it's a HUGE HUGE HUGE game for my team. I've had to miss my cousins wedding as it's on the same day but I'm hoping to be back for the night do when I shall hopefully be able to wear my ball gown again. Or at least my Mam's hoping so since she paid £75 for my dress :o Then back to work on 7th so it's all good :D:D

Sounds like your Christmas will be ace! Lots to look forward to...enjoy yourself!!!

Nah, I'm not really a football fan, who do you support?
Thanks for the tips about quidco... I have thought about changing broadband I shall look into it thankyou. And car insurance is due in February so I will definitely be using it then.

Hope your Monday's going ok :A

I'm not sure I should be encouraging you to do this, but you seem to have your debt well under control...I've been applying for credit cards on quidco, waiting for the cashback to come through, then cancelling them. Halifax pay £20 on there, Vanquis pay £25...it all adds up and it's easy money. A 5 minute form to fill in, call up activate the card, wait for money from quidco, call up and close card :D

    Take care

Thanks Bowski :A I think I've worked really hard this year and it's finally starting to pay off. I can see a glimmer of light round the corner of the tunnel. Don't feel like I can rest up though and take my foot off the pedal, I still have a long way to go.

I'm now looking for a letter in the post everyday about a refund... Having a quick look through the Council Tax rebanding success stories thread, it seems it's normal for councils to backdate the decision and refund back to 1991 or whenever you moved into the property, so hopefully I'll get a cheque soon :D

How's the child maintenance case going? Don't really know much about these things, not having children, but I think you've done incredibly well to say that the father of your child is not contributing...

Great news right before Xmas as well.

Thanks girls :D Nope didn't take too long at all. I should be about £12.50/month better off going forward aswell

    Bit of an update:

I've just updated my sig with my new Chrimbo crackers countdown total. I had forgotten to include my £30 voucher from Hastings Direct. Also got £1.94 from Hotel Chocolate through quidco. Annoyed at myself for forgetting about quidco when ordering things online from M&S...grrr...I should have learnt by now... I haven't included the £50 Nationwide should be giving me for moving bank accounts, because I have read of cases where they haven't paid out. Having said that, if they do that to me, I'll be having some strong words with them  I'm sure my total should be higher as I haven't been adding up bank interest and I'm sure there are other things I've missed. I'm not going to beat myself up about not reaching the target though. I'm better off than I was and I'm proud of how far I've come this year. I've learnt so much and I really want to carry onwards and upwards in 2010!!! Thank God for this website and the lovely people who post on it :A

I have a confession to make..:o..I applied for a credit card yesterday through quidco. It's an AA credit card and gives £23 cashback. I really need to be careful though because I'm not sure if these credit card applications might damage my credit rating and I may need to get another fixed rate mortgage next year :o The good news is that the £23 has already gone to 'validated', so I'm hoping it'll pay out before too long :D

Other news is that £30 from the American Express card has moved to 'received', so I'm now hoping Vodafone, Halifax and AmEx will all pay out this month for a fantastic £140 quidco payday which will -> Mr Barclaycard
