    Hey Gwen,

sorry you've had a rubbish week, only another 2 to go & then we can all deep chill for along time. I too plan to spend time on the sofa watching dvds while wearing pyjama s & blankets & eating anything I fancy.

Good news abut the insurance claim too :)

    Hi girls!

Well I just called IF and you're right makeup, I've paid too much in this tax year. I've now cancelled my DD to them and I will have to set it up to go into my other account that I use as a sort of 'pre-ISA filter' account, at least until I can think of something better to do with the money (premium bonds?). I might ask them to send me a statement as I'm pretty vague about how much is in there now and I could put my savings target on my sig.

All these bank moves/energy company moves/Xmas shopping are playing havoc with my different 'pots' of money  I'm really struggling to keep up with what money should be where. Plus I get paid early this month...just to make January even more painful  ...and that will mess things up a bit aswell. Must be very careful once paid, that money has to last me until the end of January  I usually end up having some very weird and wonderful meals towards the end of January as I plunge to the depths of the freezer and the back of the cupboard to avoid a shopping trip.

On the plus side, I should be getting my £30 fuel voucher soon (no, I haven't forgotten Hastings Direct!) and that should help the financial drought that is January. I have my £15 ecoupon with Tesco's which will help keep me fed and the £15 ecoupon from M&S may well go on much needed new underwear. I also have a £10 M&S giftcard, which I currently cannot find  However, it must be in the house somewhere and I intend to turn it upside down until I find it so that it can go towards a pressie for my friends new baby.

I think I've just about caught up with my surveys, did quite a few so hoping I may be able to get some vouchers in January.

Not much other money saving activity at the moment (grrr work...getting in the way of my moneysaving...yes, I know they pay my salary ), still looking at fixed mortgage rates intermittently and pondering  It is tempting, but do I want to be tied to this house for the next two years?

I once paid too much into my ISA in a tax year and they sent me a cheque with the cash back. Luckily it was near end of tax year so just waited couple of weeks and paid cheque right back in!

    Aah, new babies very cute!

Nice to have a chill out weekend before Xmas madness starts. I'm out tomrrow to a friends for a Xmas get-together thing but is in the afternoon so nothing big.

Then Sunday nothing planned but have flat on my bike so will be changing that at some point which always takes longer than I expect and gets me more angry and dirty than can be imagined.......

Enjoy your Christmas get-together :) The baking sounds yummy :D

Never had to change a tyre on a bike, but I've seen the state of my friend when he's done it. The bike is very MSE and healthy though so well worth doing. I'll be cleaning my car, checking the oil and topping up screenwash tomorrow, oh the excitement...

Yes! Cannot wait! I'm a bit worried it might go too quickly though, it always does

The insurance claim has been rumbling on for most of the year, so I'll be very pleased to have it over and done with...aswell as the money in my bank account...:D I could go out and spend it on replacing the items I lost, but I have bought myself a new jacket now and a few other new bits and I have no weddings coming up imminently, so I'll buy more posh clothes when I need them. In the meantime, it's better off with Mr Barclaycard.

To top it all, another message from annoying ex-boyfriend...

To all the SAID ladies...and guys...who are blue about being single at Christmas...it could be worse...your long term boyfriend could be messaging his ex behind your back...

Or ..... The bloke who you married just 8 months ago is texting someone else saying he loves her
I don't actually believe his texts as he doesn't even know me but I'd still be horrified if that was my partner!! I think the guy sees me as a challenge as I don't think he's used to girls turning him down :mad:

Grrr to M&S too...how bl00dy annoying!! I hope you get that sorted and find your giftcard soon. It will probably be in a safe place!

    Hi Bowski!

How are you? I'm ok. Well now it's Friday night I am... Have had a very bad week at work. Feeling quite proud of myself though for still getting everything done despite not having things in place for me to actually be able to do my job - grrrr. Anyway, it is now the weekend :D

Not really many plans for this weekend except doing a billion boring jobs as normal  I might go and see my friend's new baby on Sunday. What about you?

I think I'm taking Christmas Eve off on holiday, then I get Christmas Day to 4th January off :D Cannot wait! I'm going to see family and friends, read books, watch DVD's and I might fit some jobs in. I really need to update my CV and think about what I want to do about my stupid job career.

Are you looking forward to Christmas? I just love having a week off work and catching up with people. Staying tucked up inside with a book and a good film...fantastic :D

    Gwenx :rudolf:

Sorry to hear about your bad working week... I hope you recovered over the weekend and have a much better week ahead of you!

Did you go and see your friends baby? Aww I love babies...well for few minutes anyways. I think I'd have one if they stayed like that! I love the smell of them. I babysat all weekend but I actually enjoyed it. The kids were fantastic and I also had my nephew Friday all day which I really enjoyed, he's my favourite boy in the world I don't want him to grow up into one of those horrible men things!

Christmas sounds good, I don't think you can beat having time of over christmas. You need time to recharge don't ya. I wouldn't worry about doing any jobs, I think you should be totally selfish and chill out. Plenty of time to do jobs come January, and you'll be all geared up for it again then.

What are your thoughts re job at the moment? What are your options?

I am looking forward to christmas I always do, but this year's going to be a good one. I've got my friends 30th on boxing night, we're going to the party in a limo and I've got a ball gown  I've never wore anything like it before as I'm not girlie and never have been but I'm really looking forward to dressing up. I love a good boogie though and not sure how I'm going to dance in a proper dress, I'm imagining having to sway rather than wiggle if that makes sense :rotfl: I might have to put it on and practice :D Then NYE I've going to see my Daddy :j:j I've not seen him since July so it'll be great to spend quality time with him. Then on the 2nd of Jan I'm going to Sunderland to watch the football, I'm not sure if you're a football fan or not but it's the FA cup and it's a HUGE HUGE HUGE game for my team. I've had to miss my cousins wedding as it's on the same day but I'm hoping to be back for the night do when I shall hopefully be able to wear my ball gown again. Or at least my Mam's hoping so since she paid £75 for my dress :o Then back to work on 7th so it's all good :D:D

Thanks for the tips about quidco... I have thought about changing broadband I shall look into it thankyou. And car insurance is due in February so I will definitely be using it then.

Hope your Monday's going ok :A

Oh My God! What an idiot! If he's not used to girls turning him down, does that mean he comes on to women regularly (despite being married )??

M&S are sorted, well sort of... Called up about my £15 evoucher and apparently it hadn't come up due to some IT problem, yep, know all about them... Anyway, I've got it now and ordered my stuff, so that's that done. Still can't find £10 M&S giftcard. I'm hoping it's valid for a year and it'll turn up soon.

Got a few more things to order later and about a million other things to do. Why, why, why aren't I more organised? Next year, I have to be :o

:j Quick post cos I need to get some dinner. Sooo excited! My council tax band has been moved down!!!

I'm hoping they'll backdate it to when I bought the house and I'll get a nice cheque, but not sure if that's what they normally do or not. At the very least it's a reduction in my council tax bills from here on. V.v.pleased, feels like my luck's changing at last :D I :heart2: Martin Lewis :money:

Must go and find the thread where people post their success stories...
