I had a fab time thanks.

It was pretty cold and very rainy but the gorgeous scenery made up for it. It is very volcanic / earthquake-y there and this makes for amazing rock formations and a very bleak but amazing landscape. We also saw Strokkur which is a very active geyser and even managed to get a few good shots which is a miracle!

My mini-baileys arrived today so yours must be on the way??!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

Your voucher haul is impressive, Gwen  I have been pretty flush lately but all mine have been £5 or less!

Wow, sounds brilliant. It's very high up my list of future destinations. My friend went there on honeymoon and it looks awesome!

No sign of any freebies yet with the exception of my mini-paingone which has arrived. My photo prints have arrived though and look really good. I'm wondering where my Marie Claire mag is though :(

Thanks Fire Fox. I forgot that I also have a £30 fuel voucher coming next month and a half price MOT voucher coming. I'm voucher-rich, ha, ha! I'd like to get some from surveys, but I seem to get screened out of a lot of them. I'm liking Ipsos at the moment though, they're quite good.

Might go to bed in a sec, went out last night and am quite tired (also spent too much ). Need to get up at a reasonable time and do lots of admin stuff - yet again, never ends

Not sure I'll get chance to post on the SAID thread before my eyes close, but I've been lurking on there and have noticed the absence of Lula-Hula. Hope you're ok Lula, post again soon!

Def worth a visit - and good to consider now as the exchange rate is much better. Eg. two years ago 2000kr was £15 but now £10 so quite a good difference.

    What is a mini-paingone???

Just called Nationwide (my new bank) to find out when the direct debits/standing orders are likely to be moved over from my bank account. I got through to a boy who didn't even sound old enough to work. He told me I needed to go into a branch to fill out a form??? When I enquired what the form was to do, he said to get the DD's and SO's moved. I told him I'd already instructed them to be moved online when I applied for the account. !!!!!!? Maybe I'm in a grumpy mood, but why tell me to do something without finding out if I actually need to do it? Then he said he couldn't tell me when they would move....surprising, given his helpfulness so far  Then I asked if my salary would be moved or if I had to arrange that....guess what? He didn't know that either.

What have I done??? I know I don't like the way that A&L displays the balances, but whenever I have called up they at least been helpful!! I really can't fault their customer service and now I'm with Nationwide, I get this. I'm now very, very worried about when my DD's etc move, there may not be money there to cover them :eek:

Right, rant over. I'll call again tomorrow. I really hope that call was recorded 'for training purposes' though.

Thanks for the heads up, makeup. I would like to have more holidays (i.e. more than none) and I'm hoping I can next year, so it could happen. Having said that one or two of my friends are planning on getting married abroad I think, so I might have to go somewhere else instead.

I weakened yesterday and bought Marie Claire in Tesco's. Don't know where mine's got to. I can't remember if I got last months through the post or not though, I'm fairly sure I did. That's a bit annoying, where's this month's gone then?

I'm not entirely sure what a mini-paingone is either makeup, to be honest :o I just saw it on the freebies board and everybody there was raving about it. You only pay P&P so I thought I'd get one and try it. I considered getting my Mum one too for her arthritis, but then thought I'd just get one and see what it's like. Haven't tried it yet. I think it's something to do with pressure points, but I really don't know and haven't read the instructions yet :o

  • Hi Gwen...crikey that is an impressive amount of vouchers! I was all :j:j when I got a £20 e-voucher for amazon from pigsback, dread to think what I'd be like if I got that lot lol How did you get a fuel voucher? God I could do with one of those!!

 @ your leccy bill, but if it's any consolation I got my phonebill in the other day and it was £136 :eek::eek::eek: Usually £24.50! Needless to say I changed my bolt on and I now get unlimited texts. I feel sick just thinking about what I could do with that money (service my car, hair cut & dyed, christmas presents :o) I need to stop thinking about it though, get it paid and make sure it never ever happens again!
    Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
    Debt now Jan 2021 - £6,208.21
    Overpayment pot - £0
  •:mad: to nationwide! Hopefully when you ring again tomorrow the boy will be back at school and you'll be able to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about. I'm sure it'll all work out fine.

I am :rotfl:at you getting that mini-paingone and not knowing what it's for. Hope it works whatever it is :D

Gwen - if it helps when i moved banks recently I had to change my salary myself.

I could do it on the intranet at work but I think you will need to contact HR or Payroll to get them to change where they pay it into.

The new bank did swap all my DD's and SO's for me though...

Thanks Bowski :D Most of them came from complaints :o I'm going to get a reputation if I'm not careful, or maybe these companies shouldn't employ such useless couriers  What did you do on pigsback to get vouchers? I'm trying to do surveys at the moment to earn some, but I seem to get screened out of a lot of them

The fuel voucher was with my car insurance. Hastings Direct were the cheapest quote, then I got a £30 fuel voucher, half price MOT voucher and £55 cashback through quidco :j

 Yep Bowski, my face was doing that <- when I saw that electricity bill! £136 mobile bill?? Argh!:eek: Sounds like you've got it sorted though. I think that's all we can do, put it down to experience and try never to do it again. I don't intend to rely on a fan heater again, bl00dy hell, they eat electricity. I'm now slightly worried about my gas bill coming aswell, but I'll just have to deal with it.

Lol, yes, I'm hoping if I call tomorrow he'll be busy in lessons and not taking calls for NW! I'm just a bit apprehensive I think. Don't want DD's to start going out with no money there for them!

Yeah, the mini-paingone thing is quite funny, but a freebie is a freebie :D Basically I ordered it because everybody on the thread was raving about them and saying that they really work. I thought one would be handy for me for TOTM or handy for Mum's arthritis. Decided just to order one for the moment though. If it's good, I might get another.

Thanks makeup. I'm thinking I probably do have to move my salary myself, but I want to make sure I get it done at the right time. When I moved to A&L they sorted out moving everything and it really went very smoothly, no payments were missed at all.

I think I'll have to contact HR or payroll to get it sorted, but there must be a point in the month where the pay closes or whatever and it's too late to change it, so I need to get on the phone to NW tomorrow.

Eurghhh... I feel all cold-y. Got a really painful sore throat last night, this morning my tonsils are swollen up and my head has been BANGING. I've tried to do a few jobs, mainly ones that require no thought, like going through receipts. Made a half hearted attempt to clean the bathroom and had a long, hot bath and did some goddessing. Got washing to do and then going to get myself on the sofa for X factor with pizza, coleslaw and possibly a glass of wine. I might even read the instructions for the mini-paingone and give it a go! :D
