Hi Gwen
Glad you've sort of sorted Tesco  I'm going to treat myself to Glamour when I'm out today - saw the free nail polish. I have Red and She on subscription but I am tempted to get Glamour too when I have enough Nectar points , of courseSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hi Shoe Gal
Yep, I've just checked my bank account and £65.08 has been refunded and arrived back with me. Still got the £14.03 payment to sort out though
I love Glamour magazine and it's a good one this month. I've just bought a subscription really cheap with Benefit goodies, but I sent it to makeup and it had expired otherwise you could do that. Nectar points are good though, feels like you're getting it for free! I'm hoping now I'm earning nectar points on my gas and electricity I should start to accumulate them a bit faster.
I'll nip over to your diary in a sec and see how your week was.
Take care

I can't wean myself off magazines despite many attempts
so subscriptions, especially with points, are the next best thing
Please don't hateme but I have £50 of Oasis vouchers so going to have a look later before I meet my friend

Me too
although now I have my Marie Claire and Glamour subscriptions I'm doing pretty well at not buying any more. The thing for me is just to not even look at the magazine stand. If I see something that looks remotely interesting it'll be in my basket before I know it!
I don't hate you! That's awesome. They have soooo much lurverly stuff in there, it's amazing. Let me know what you getRather sadly, I am VERY familiar with their stock

Right, I feel like I need to update a little. This week's been pretty good. Work wasn't too busy, which was nice. I feel like I managed to get other things done in the evening, instead of coming home late or just shattered. I was planning to go to a bonfire on Thursday, but it got cancelled at the last minute, which was a shame, but never mind. I was looking forward to it as a cheap night out. I need my socialising to be cheap...especially this month
This brings me onto the other news from this week....the realisation that I really am pretty skint this month. I'm not even sure where it's all gone to  I set up an account with spendingdiary.com and I'm starting to get into the habit of filling it in, so I can see where it's all going. This should be especially enlightening when I get a whole month filled in. I've also been trying to manage with what I have in....store cupboard meals...and not treat myself to little extra's. I'm hoping with some careful management like this I might make it even at the end of the month. I intend to use my time whilst skint this month to get prepared for Christmas and continue decluttering the living room and generally sorting my life out.
The bill for the boiler repair came in this week at about £80. Not too bad I suppose, but could have done without it in the first place  I transferred money to his account, so that's been paid.
In an attempt to up my income a little, I have signed up to a few more survey websites and have been trying to do all the surveys that have come my way this week. I've also done a bit of comping!
I had a brainwave yesterday though. The MB tickets for my Mum's Christmas present cost a bit of an arm and a bit of a leg and would mean I couldn't get her any other little extra's to put under the tree without being very, very skint. I spoke to my brother, saying if you were thinking of what to get Mum, you could put into these.... He's agreed to go halves, so I can stick to my present budget and Mum can have some nice little presents to unwrap too!
I have written a totally scary looking list for this weekend, which I may post in a minute. Really is very scary. For the moment I'm sat here browsing the forum, drinking coffee and avoiding looking at it
