Margaret Thatcher said that ultimately we are all individuals and we need to take responsibility for our own actions. We just cannot turn round and say that just because society has thrown common sense out of the window,I will do the same.Another common phenomenon seen in today's world.Blame others and evade responsibility.
You really are a sad individual, however please feel free to get enjoyment out of my misfortune, I have morals and refuse to lower my standards to your level.
I am intrigued as to why you spend so much time posting drivel on threads instead of working. Are you unemployed ????0 -

OP glad you got sorted by the way and all the best to you.
I'm sorry i do agree with you. I shouldn't continue replying to his comments. I just find it very disrespectful to have someone
insinuating that i'm a dishonest person who is trying to use my illness as an excuse not to repay my debts.
I originally posted the thread to get some advice as to how to deal with the court proceedings and I'm extremely grateful to everyone for their help and support.0 -
Prevention is better than cure and the same applies to finance. We need to plan ahead for different eventualities which saves us a lot of distress in the long run.I am often amazed at how financially naieve we all are.It ends up costing them more and causing a lot of distress.Maybe we should introduce that as a topic in school.Re-inforce time and time again-always read the documents you sign. They are legally binding.Always think about how you will pay if you are unemployed or ill.
And if you find this offensive, please feel free to report and get it deleted.
Another funny thing about this website is the number of people who say they definitely wont post anything more and cannot stick to their word !0 -

I feel we are ignoring a further offence to our eyes and brains, caused by a lack of space between every full stop and the start of the next sentence in EVERY ONE of your posts!0 -
When my mother developed Alhzeimer's we knew that it was a terminal condition so sorted out her financial affairs while she still had the capacity for it.We cared for her for two years untill she got so bad we had to have her in a nursing home. Before we started to take care of her,me and my husband sat down and worked out our finances and our financial committments.I left full time work and took on an evening part time job.We made sure we could meet our financial committments even if it meant working unsocial hours.0

I am all for free speach and plain speaking but to be deliberately nasty, it is uncalled for.
Glad things worked out for you in the end Gerryscot, very pleased for you!
Look after yourself
HI I've just read through this thread and would endorse Mrs Bumble's comments- on the whole people who post here are friendly and supportive, does the malicious person not realise how desperate some people are who come on here? I am so pleased for the OP and that he still has his house- must be such a relief all the best xxnow debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0 -
It is indeed awful the state some people find themselves in.That is why it is so important to think of all eventualities when we take out credit. At the time of taking out credit we may have a nice job but we need to think-what happens if I lose my job? That way we can save ourselves a lot of distress later.
That way we can save ourselves from having to arrange DMP's and paying our hard earned money to these companies.0 -
Updated conclusion
Just wanted to update this post with the conclusion and say a huge thank you to everyone who helped and support me. :A
:T :T
Shelter put a stop to the court action for eviction (I didn’t attend but I believe the sheriff chased them from the court in disgust). Financial Ombudsman’s were a great help they upheld my complaint regarding the dispute with Black Horse about interest charges in settlement figure, they refunded all interest charges, court costs and also awarded compensation for inconvenience and distress. The total amount was £5,200. :j :j :j
I am at the final stages of a Scottish Government Mortgage to shared equity application to settle the balance of the secured loan. I’ll still have equity left in the property, and its such a huge relief to finally get it sorted. :T :T
Thanks again :grouphug:
