  • I just bought two pairs from them. fantastic. £20 ,for the two of them. at that price what's the worst can happen?. quality is acceptable. I'm just happy with a little fashion and no scratches so these cheapo glasses are fab. With regards others saying they took a while with delivery, so what? In ten days you get your fancy new glasses for next to no money. I'll never buy expensive glasses again.
  • 7 week wait, the worst service ever? Yes that's select specs!

If you want cheap glasses, appalling service, to be ignored and a script read to you? and even get the same rubbish when you talk to the directors? Then shop here!
They will let down every expectation you have!
And from the attitude of everyone at the company, they ain't bovered!
If you do make the mistake of using them read every minute detail on the website with extreme care and do a full examination of all the terms and conditions, as they don't believe they are ever wrong or could mislead you or anyone could ever make a mistake!
Oh and be prepared to wait a long long time!

Be warned aviod this company at all costs!!!!!!

Use them and you will be sorry!

Do you really need my order number? I have been in contact with everyone who works in your office by now surely? and I got the same ignorant usless response everywhere!

    order no. 458939
  • I have now purchased around 4 pairs of glasses from selectspecs and also advised my family to buy from them so imagine my absolute disappointment on my latest purchase. I ordered my glasses and was advised 7-10 days to delivery, great I thought only to then be told after 8 days that the lenses had been damaged in glazing so my order would be another 8-10 days. They have order tracking online which worked until the delay and then there was no update on my order on there at all, I had received no update from the company and had to chase them myself every other day ( I needed the glasses urgently as mine were broken) they then promised to send them out by special courier on a next day delivery when ready, I then receive an email advising me they were complete and had shipped.......by Royal Mail 3 day delivery !!!
The glasses are excellent great value for money, the service received was pitiful and the compensation I was offered was a free pair of cheap frames from the Bronze collection or 10% off my next order !!! 10% ??? I regularly receive 20% off through their emails so to me this was a complete insult, I do not think I will bother buying from them again !!

    Hi Simon,

Sorry to hear you found our service poor this time.

With regards to your order being delayed, as stated on our website we want to ensure that a customers order is perfect so if there's a problem with the frame or lenses we'll remake the order to ensure 100% satisfaction with the product. While your order was not dispatched by DPD due to and issue with the DPD delivery system, we shipped your order on the 10th March by Royal Mail Signed For and can see that this was signed for on the 12th March. Apologies for this delay and any confusion caused.

We're currently experiencing some issues with our order tracking system, so unfortunately some order details are not updating correctly via our automated system. We're due to give this area of our website and overhaul to add more up to date information and other useful features.

As an apology and as you correctly state, we offered a 10% discount of another order or a free frame up to the value of £30 including single vision thin & light lenses. While we do offer 20% discounts on various occasions, these are not permanent discounts, the 10% offered to you is permanent and can be used once when no other codes are running, apologies if you feel this is unacceptable.

We take your comments on board and are pleased to hear you're happy with your latest order, we're sorry if this experience has tainted your previous image of our service and we do hope that you change your mind and decide to use our services again in future.

    Kind regards,

    James

The customer service team here are beyond awful, the poor people that answer the phones take the calls while the so called customer service agents won’t accept calls so you have to relay messages via the gate keepers (who do a good job taking angry calls)

My glasses broke so I needed new frames and my old lenses put in. It took over 2 weeks despite them saying it would be 7 days , ready for my holiday on the 3rd June.

I ended up putting the holiday back until the 10th June. Eventually the glasses came on the 8th June WITHOUT MY LENSES IN.

I THEN TRIED CALLING THEM DESPERATLY and {Removed by Forum Team} customer services didn’t take my calls or respond to my emails, it’s now the day before my holiday and I have no glasses, select specs have my lenses so I can’t even get them glazed elsewhere.

They won’t respond to my calls or emails and I haven’t even had an apology. The owners are very hard to track down and this place is very suspect.

PLEASE DON’T USE THIS COMPANY AND MAKE THE AWFUL MISTAKE I MADE!!!!!!!

    Mike,

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having, I agree that it's unacceptable for your frames to be sent to you without the lenses - this was simply human error. We have sent you an RMA to return the frames so we can insert your lenses (free returns) - this can be resolved easily for you but unfortunately not in time for your holiday. We have also offered you a free pair of glasses from our collection as an apology for the inconvenience.

With regards to your frame being delayed, unfortunately we didn't hold a replacement frame in stock that matches yours, this had to be requested from the supplier under a warranty claim - We expected this in around 5 days which is their lead time but this took a little longer than expected which is beyond our control.

Finally, with regards to our customer services team, we have our call center advisers who then escalate cases to the necessary department who then resolve the cases if they cannot resolve themselves. In this case it was a 'return' so was escalated to our returns department, our team who deal with returns only communicate with customers via email at the current time (I note you have named an individual from our company, so we request this is kindly removed).

I can see all your queries have been dealt with in a timely manner so it's completely false to suggest we have not responded to you. As mentioned above, we have sent you an RMA, please return your frames as soon as possible and we will resolve this for you.

    Kind regards,

    James

    Not Good
Just received my glasses ordered from SelectSpecs. They are for vdu work but I can only see out of the very top of the lens; everywhere else up/down and sideways is blurred. I asked my optician who kindly checked them and said the 'addition' was wrong but declined to do anything further as the prescription was wrong as far as he was concerned (it is correct on the order). Have requested a refund by email; waiting to hear something.
  • I'd suggest everyone to stay away from this site and don't order anything. It's been 4 weeks already and I'm still waiting for my delivery. After writing a complain they now sent me a non delivery form to complete so I can receive a replacement. Exactly the same thing happened to my brother. Obvious con artists, all they care about is money.

I've been having a terrible time with selectspecs. I ordered some glasses back in early October that they couldn't provide for 6 weeks, or something. So I cancelled and ordered with another company for quick dispatch. Selectspecs apologised and offered me a 10% discount on my next order. So, I thought I would take advantage of this and order a pair of prescription sunglasses in the same style as the original pair - But... The order process allowed me to complete without taking in to account that even tho they are sunglasses, a tint needed to be applied. So I corresponded with the ticketsupport team and sent them an alternative order for standard frames with tinted lenses - slightly cheaper than the sunglasses option ... Again, they couldn't provide the frames I ordered, so again in correspondence with ticketsupport I changed the frame choice. My glasses eventually arrived (mid-November), with the amended frames I had agreed to ... and clear lenses - Not the tints I ordered. No they appear to have completely stopped responding to me. I have requested to return them for amendment or refund. But, nothing. They have managed to fail in pretty much every respect as far as my interactions with them have been concerned. In their favour, they did get the prescription correct. But, not a great experience at all. :( **UPDATE** Shortly after making this post I received an apology and email containing a free return label for the incorrect glasses I received and the assurance that the correct original order had now been generated. So this has been resolved.
  • Ordered two pairs of glasses on 22 Oct. When eventually delivered one lens was broken.

Was told that I'd ordered the wrong lenses for the frames, even though they were a valid choice on the web site, and that I'd have to pay more to have the correct ones.

Only after threatening legal action (linked to fraudulent misrepresentation and Sale if Goods Act) did they offer to replace the lenses in both pairs as a 'goodwill gesture'.

Of the replacement pairs one turned up with a broken arm and had to be replaced, again. The final pairs received took until 8 December to arrive and both have warped frames and loose ear pieces that their customer service told me to get them "...adjusted by a local optician".

Altogether an awful and slow service.

    Avoid.
