After posting my feedback on this site, I have heard nothing since providing my order number over 2 weeks ago. This level of customer service does not surprise me from SelectSpecs....0

A few years ago I bought some Stellar rimless specs from Selectspecs. Really good specs; so armed with my new prescription I ordered some more. Prices have gone up to £50
but that's life... I did see that there were some cheaper frames (Vista - £22.50) but the arms were too short (140) and I need 155.
Imagine my disappointment when the new specs arrived with 140mm arms. I sent photos of the old specs (155mm arms) and the new specs (140mm arms) alongside a ruler and they told me to RMA the new specs.
Imagine my surprise when Selectspecs told me that the new specs have 155 printed on them and must be 155mm long. They are 140 - they are too short - the photos show that they are 15mm shorter than my old specs arms - Selectspecs has sent me Vista frames marked up as Stellar ones. Their own website shows how to measure arm length and the new specs have 140mm arms. They are now offering to reglaze my old Stellar frames (the 155mm ones) for an additional £8.50. Have I slipped sideways into a dystopian parallel universe?
If anyone from Selectspecs is listening, please look up Order 438765 return | ID: 53910 and sort this out...
Thanks

I have tried a few different online specs companies. For quality, Selectspecs are great, the free coatings are the most hard wearing I have had. I wish they had a virtual try-on option though, as I have chosen unflattering frames that wont wear out! Also postage is more expensive than other places at £5.95 for one pair.0

In my opinion avoid like the plague. I uploaded my brand new prescription & sent in my old frames to be reglazed. They took weeks to be sent back to me & when they were returned I could not see properly out of them. After many emails back & forth the company tried to blame me for this issue they would only offer me a 50% refund which I am still waiting for many weeks later by PayPal. I have been told that a refund has been sent but it has yet to appear in my PayPal account. REALLY wish I had never come across their website 😣0

I noticed today that Selectspecs is now also trading as Superdrug Opticians.
http://opticians.superdrug.com/
The websites are near identical except the prices on the Superdrug site are more expensive for the same styles as on the selectspecs.com site
E.g. the "cheap specs" start at £9/£15 per pair from "Superdrug" vs £6/£9 on the original site, and the "budget range" starts at £25 vs £10 on the original site.
The higher prices are (very marginally) balanced by the fact that delivery is free for a £25 order on Superdrug site vs a minimum £75 order on the main site. There is also a click and collect option from Superdrug stores, though this is only free for orders over £25.
I guess Select Specs is testing the market to see if people will pay more for the supposed extra reassurance of buying from a High Street brand.0 -
Hi everybody,
If you have any problems with SelectSpecs glasses, this is how to get a refund:
Send a recorded delivery letter to their head office address:

If they fail to do so or if you have any problems, you can report a professional registrant to the General Optical Council:

Hi,
Sorry to hear this, do you have an order number for us to check for you. It's rare that we would make a mistake during the glazing process as prescriptions are verified during the quality control process after production is completed.
Kind regards,

I ask you to spend an hour if your time going to asda, and having a look around, their prices for me were fantastic (being quoted over £450.00 for one pair) from the winter shoe co. to paying 149.00 for two pairs, slim varifocal lenses, with anti glare and one of the pairs can be sunglasses if you wish. I do have a very high end prescription - so much so, that they told me I can get help with my prescription - and I work full time - whoever heard of such a thing.
If your prescription is high enough then they give you the slimmer lenses.
Please don't take my word for it - go and ask them!!!!Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190
