Hey SelectSpecs. Why did you ignore 3 requests to cancel my order due to shipping delays? You had not even fitted the lenses to the frames before my first request to cancel. Two subsequent requests before dispatch also ignored. I know you received the request because they are in my email thread with you.

    Quite shocking customer service!

    Hi,
Do you have an order number so I can check for you. A customer service adviser should have advised you regarding cancellation and any subsequent fees. If you can give me an order or case number I can delve in to this for you and give you an answer.

    Kind regards,
    James

    SelectSpecs order 395356

Yes, I was advised of a 5.00 fee for cancelling due to the lenses being ordered in for me - I was fine with that and stated so - but I was still ignored 3 times when requesting to cancel.

    Hi Aris,

I've discussed this with our customer service manager, it seems that there was some confusion in our order system hence the cancellation not being done. Human error unfortunately. :(

As you no longer want the frame, please return the item when you receive it with a free RMA which we will email to you - We will provide you with a full refund due to the mistake. Of course, you're more than welcome to keep these glasses if you so wish.

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards,
    James

I've not been offered a "free RMA" - i've been offered a standard RMA of the frames only as per your terms. So basically I have to send these back to you (presumably recorded delivery) - and also take the 5.00 hit on the lenses as per your policy. I was quite happy to take the £5.00 hit on the lenses before you posted these out - but now I also have to take the hit on the postage too £3.90

You have offered me a "free" pair of glasses - but to be honest I don't want them - I just want to return these and get a full refund. Except now of course i'm not only out the price of the lenses, but also the shipping costs back you.

    Hi Aris,

I have spoken to the customer service manager and she advises me that she has sent you a free RMA with prepaid shipping so you should not be charged. If this is not the case please respond to email with case number 39248 so we can resend to you.

    Thanks

Yes I got this - I will be posting it today.
  • Budget glasses are shipped to UK and Europe from UK, you will not be subject to any duties or taxes. This has been the case for well over a year now.

My glasses arrived a few days ago and, like others, I could not be happier with the product or the price. I will continue using SelectSpecs as my preferred supplier and will be recommending your firm to as many people as possible.

My criticisms in my previous post turned out to be completely unfounded. One of your customer services people answered my query very promptly and the glasses were delivered quickly, also.

The thing that threw me was the paragraph in your order confirmation email which said budget glasses are shipped from Hong Kong, and the customer is responsible for all import costs.
  • I have been so disappointed. It amazes me how stupid a company has to be to sell something like frames over the internet and not expect them to have to be adjusted. It doesn't matter how many measurements you search with, you still might need adjustments when they arrive based on shape etc. I was trapped into a sale for something not fit for purpose and as a result, I have spent several weeks fighting with this company because they sold frames that are mainly rubber arms but failed to warn anyone that they weren't suitable for any kind of adjustment. Even the opticians were surprised that they had sold these particular frames with no further advice. That is a serious failure in thier process that they refuse to admit and they would not provide a full refund. I've actually ended up paying them more money to exchange them! Or be stuck with useless glasses. Be Aware - Refunds and Exchanges are not free you are charged extra fees for the privilege. This company leaves a lot to be desired and although it might look cheap on the face of it, before you know it, you might have extra fees for this and that. If you must buy from them, be very aware of what you are getting into.

  • I placed my order on 14/2, and after a couple of questions regarding my presciption it was "in progress" on the 17th. The order status has not changed for the last 10 days, and there has been NO response to my emails.
I wish I'd read this thread before placing an order, as the customer service and communication is appalling!

    Hi,
I can see your order shipped on the 3rd March. The order was completed within the 7-10 working days we specify on our website - our labs were closed for essential maintenance just after your order was placed unfortunately resulting in a slight delay (our production timescales were adjusted accordingly at the time). Your order should be with you shortly if not already - please advise us if there's any problems?

Please note, your last email was sent on a Thursday evening, we responded as soon as we could on the following Monday advising about shipping. We also have a free phone number 0800 012 4729 for inquiries (Mon-Fri 9-6pm).

    Kind regards,

    James
