Quentin - we got your points a long long time ago. Your constructive arguments are now just becoming repetitive and tedious, personal drum-banging. You and Mobile Junkie just seem to be 'hijacking' any thread to do with a CPW company. Yes, you do have a good argument with certain points but can't we please try to move on a little......

What do you want the guy to do? Sacrifice himself on a webcam to atone for every misdemeanour committed in the history of CPW.

    Second thoughts.....don't answer that.

This thread concerns a perfectly valid claim which they refused!

MobileJunkie referred to CPW. Mobiles.co.uk is a subsidiary company. I want MJ to give me a case when CPW refused a valid claim. Thank you.

Trouble is the rep widens the argument and gets it moved away from the original issue.

eg. There is no dispute that the letter arrived within the 30 days, this was a Saturday, they refuse to accept it, reject the claim.

I point out this is hardly what you'd expect the company we are told is the fairest on the net to do, and the rep then brings in the special delivery issue!

Yes and, with respect, you keep pointing this out!!!!
It is a bit of a grey area so hopefully this case will help clarify the minefield that is the cashback system, a little more and get some firm guidance in place.

It's not just the rep that has been widening the argument. Some people's comments seem to border on the libellous and some just throw glib, emotive comments down...the thread just goes round in circles.....

Be fair to the guy, they paid your claims didnt they?

And now hes promised to changes the website wording to make it clearer. What more do you want him to do?

These threads are littered with examples - they have been going on for two years now. For example:-

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=520694&highlight=esave

Anyone following these threads for all that time would have come across many other examples - especially on E2Save and Onestopphoneshop. Dozens have needed to sue because of totally dishonest claim rejections. Some of my claims were rejected where even the facts and reasons given flew plainly in the face of their own t&c. Needless to say they eventually paid up when facing court action. Two of the people I look after actually DID have to sue. Again, they were paid just before the court hearings - cpw NEVER pays at that after being sued unless the plaintiff has a perfectly sound case. I have in addition helped severl other people on privately to sue successfully. ALL of them were rejected for totally and transparently incorrect and bogus reasons (a word the rep on here seems to like).

THAT all began with a total disregard for their own t&c AND the practice of rewriting them AFTER the contract was taken out. If you do some research you will find tons of examples - and what concerns me is that this rep seems to be going down the same route.

what concerns me is that this rep seems to be going down the same route.

Again, speaking for Mobiles, 2 revisions in 5 years (both clearly labelled on the site, with before-and-after versions available for customers so they know which set applies) and one addition at the suggestion of an MSE thread last week (which you claim is part of the legally enforceable T&Cs, but is in fact just a "Frequently Asked Question" about how long a cheque takes to arrive once a claim is approved).

Also totally untrue. As I have stated and quoted the wording is actually under the heading "conditions".

Good afternoon, MJ. Reading this thread and your comments, I agree entirely that some of the CPW sites have been total shockers in the past and I lost a valid claim to OSPS, so no love lost.

But this is mobiles.co.uk and I wonder if I could repeat my other thread question here to you.

Very true - and your help an comments have been very helpful to MSE contributors. But as you write above, your experience has been with "cpw companies" in the generic sense.

But as far as mobiles.co.uk goes, and keeping the question to (a) that particular company and (b) your personal experience (not other people's gripes on here) just what is their record with you and the people you look after?

    In particular,
    (a) how many times have they tried to get out of one of your cashbacks
    (b) what is the longest time that you have had to wait for a stage payment
    (c) roughly how many contracts have you and yours had with this particular company

This would be really helpful as people are interested in specific cashback sites rather than composite cpw companies as a whole.

    Many thanks.

Sorry, but it's under a section entitled "How Cashback is Paid".

If you feel we are breaching legally enforceable T&Cs by asking that customers allow up to 28 days for delivery of the cheque once a claim is approved then we're never going to reach a conclusion here I'm afraid.

As I've already said 6 or 7 times, the site tells customers what to expect (delivery within 14 days, in line with anything sent 2nd class post, but worst-case 28 days) and I'm doing my best to reduce the worst-case time for delivery by working with the secure printers that produce cheques for us and the rest of CPW. This work was underway before I even joined MSE, to give customers a better experience.

Did you receive your cheque yet by the way? You never replied when I asked you to let me know how long it took.

    Thanks,
