• Except that cpw decided to play dirty and dishonestly refuse perfectly valid claims on a selective basis - thus the large numbers who had to resort to the legal route and my warnings about companies (especially cpw ones) appearing in sheeps clothing. One thing above all else I have found time and again is just HOW dishonest other cpw companies have been - and unscrupulous. That isn't put right with fatuous claims by representatives from the same group. The fact I use these companies does not mean people should go blindly in as so many have before; I use them because I follow my own guide (which IS truthful and fairly comprehensive) and ALWAYS prepare to sue from the point of ordering. That is (for example) why I copy out the ACTUAL T&C AT THE POINT OF SALE and avoid falling foul of yet another of cpw's scams - changing the t&c later and ignoring the original ones anyway - smehting this part of cpw is already overtly doing.

Most people simply don't follow the groundrules and are lured by the hype without doing the necessary legwork. It's quite simple when dealing with this company; be prepared (in every sense of the word), ready and well able to sue if required by them - or else stay away!
Can you please explain why CPW refuse perfectly valid claims? Please give an example.

It's not perfectly valid if it arrives 2 days after the deadline for claims to be received. The reason this was the case was 1) it was sent on day 29 and 2) we can't accept signed-for deliveries on the weekend.

Surely we can agree that this was a grey-area case?

In any event, I've resolved it to the customer's satisfation and amended the site to prevent future repetition.

I say dont waste your time posting out your bill/s for cashback. I believe you can email your bill to them and your cashback claim will be processed. This is what I've done for the past year. No problems!

Email it to customer.services@mobiles.co.uk

Actually cashback@mobiles.co.uk - CS would forward it to this address.

Original post:- 11-08-2009, 10:36 AM complaining that letter refused delivery on a Saturday, the 30th day of the return window and as a result, the claims team didn't get the claim till after the window and were unaware that it would have been in by the deadline if the office was open on Saturday.

Company Rep replies :- 11-08-2009, 1:57 PM saying his t&c were ambiguous, (that infers it means one thing to one person and another to someone else), he will instruct the team to accept the claim and then changes his t&c to clarify the position.

Now that seems pretty fair to me and a quick result.

Yes a quick result once the case was publicised here.

But prior to going public, the customer had had the claim repeatedly rejected!

No.

It arrived within the agreed timescale, on a Saturday. Your staff wouldn't sign for it, then rejected the claim for being received too late when you did accept it off the postman the following Monday!

If you want to be excused from accepting mail that comes on a Saturday, then wouldn't it be fairer to use "working days" as your requirement for the window to get their claim in?

I think redemption's complicated enough as it is :)

If day 30 is a Saturday or Sunday then I'd think it's fairly obvious that posting it on a Friday, even using Special Delivery (which by the way is guaranteed next working day) is a risk.

More unnecessary misinformation.

It's next day delivery (not just "next working day")

Saturday delivery is also available using Special Delivery.

Google "special delivery", click the first result - "next working day".

Guaranteed Saturday is available but isn't widely available and is not the default, it's an optional extra.
