Mobiles.co.uk cashback problems

Well the OP's problem was that of sending a form in on a Saturday - now part of the fault in this problem lies with the OP in my opinion - waiting till 29th day to send a form in knowing that 30th day is a Saturday is not wise thing to do.
On the other hand if the company (this could be any mobile retail company) was closed for business on a Saturday but royal mail tried to deliver a recorded cashback claim - is the claim valid.
Its a gray area - some companies might say they have right to decline the cashback, others might still honour the cashback. Its a bit of a loophole in favour of a company and one which consumers should be aware.
But to solve this particular point - it needs some body like Ofcom to make a rule one way or the other.
Hiya,
Several people have asked about the OP, so to try and bring this thread to a close (it's gone far beyond me helping an MSE user) and as previously posted, what happened was;- Claim accepted due to website not making it clear that we don't accept signed-for post on the weekend.
- Website now makes this clear to avoid a repeat.

No way this thread is coming to a close!
It will remain as one more place where people who have problems obtaining their cashback from your company can post their experiences. It will also remain as one where your t&c can be discussed. Unless you drastically change the way you operate I forsee a new type of cashback claim problem appearing in a few months' time. This is apart from other cashback problems I know about already with your organisation - and YES, I DO mean MOBILES.CO.UK.
Apparently you are saying I am content not to post against your company; by saying that and by other things I have learnt about you in the last two weeks I am now conclusively of the opinion that your companhy is definitely not trustworthy and should remain fully open to scrutiny. I have spent my UNPAID time on this forum for well over two YEARS giving feedback and advice on many cashback companies and my experience and knowledge is now vast enough to see clear warning signs in your case. You have spent about two WEEKS of part PAID time and dismiss all criticisms - but mine are here to stay and will be for a long time to come (a long time after you have "handed over" to your "customer facing department" - trying not to laugh at that!).0 -

Ok, thanks.
Again, for what I believe is the 6th time, if you have any concerns about your own personal cashback claims then please do get in touch. Otherwise you just come across as a very paranoid man with a chip on your shoulder.
I still don't understand why you're a cashback customer of ours - a bit hypocritical, no? We are after all a CPW company and would have been when you signed up.
I'm going to stick to corresponding with customers from now on. Please try not to interfere unless you genuinely have something helpful to say?

mobilejunkie wrote: »Another dishonest reply. I AM a customer - so where does that lave your last statement? What I come across as - more hype and spin. That's how you want to portray me and I have no objection since I have no respect left for your statements. There's lots you claim to not "understand" and I am not here to enlighten you. However, even my critics acknowledge that I have helped many in the past and during those times I often accepted a lot of flack too. That doesn't frighten me - so you can expect me to continue to say it like it is rather than as you try to paint it.
Yes you have, but, regrettably, of late you are becoming a troll.0 -
It seems my critics can only result to what one of them described as "playground" tactics. Sticks and stones etc...!0

mj-serious question here. do you really want to bring this company down?
you're not going to get the specific replies that you want. if you just keep 'warning' people off and portraying the cpw group in a bad light, is that going to help things get better? if you do want to damage them in some way -what's going to happen to their current customer's with cashbacks?will it increase the chances of getting good deals?will they end up laying people off?just a few questions there.they may be a big company - look what happened to Woolies....the Banks...Bit dramatic, i know, but it happens.
They did ask (Mobiles),e.g., if you want to help advise on drawing up a more user friendly cashback website (which surely would have to involve T&Cs).....but you only want to draw a line in the sand... and fight...0 -
Thommy, I agree with you.
I previously posted that in my view MJ was becoming a troll and his previous helpful posting record was being taken over by a vendetta. I found the following URL that describes what a troll is and I leave it to you to agree or disagree.

That was another ridiculous ploy which is designed to feed you and Guy's Dad. It's not my problem about their staff or business success; you seem to care only about that and not the customers who are likely to have severe problems using this "fair" (HA!) dealer. They are not Woolies et al and are highly unlikely to go bust. Bending to whatever nonsense they come up with is not my way. Should they actually change TOTALLY and START being "fair" in reality I would by all means assist in their t&c. However, there is a fundamental point which a couple of you seem to be unconcerned with and which would prevent any such involvement from me:- they deny the parts of their own t&c they don't comply with yet enforce the ones which suit at the earliest possible moment. ANY dealer doing that deserves no truck or comfort and certainly will never get any from me.
My warnings are now well deserved and justified and people who aren't on here (apparently) to defend them come hell or high water and who are considering using this dealer would do very well to take note. Whether they do is up to them of course.0 -

MJ,
I still can't believe that you are honestly saying that the time it takes a cheque to arrive (after a claim is confirmed within the 30 days that the site has always stated is the timescale for CONFIRMING and SENDING, not delivery) is a fundamental part of any T&Cs and that this is comparable to a dealer who doesn't pay valid claims, changes the T&Cs relating to claim validity, is deliberately misleading customers about claiming etc etc.
This is the root of my problems with your ongoing posts - you seem unable to even comprehend the MASSIVE difference between the two. You don't like waiting for a cheque - I get it - but really, you're treating us like BCCI or Enron because of nothing.
I offered you the chance to review our cashback update that's occurring shortly, and I'll be explicit here about this not being a PR piece etc; we'll never mention the fact that you've had input into our update; I really, genuinely don't care about perception, I'm trying to make a part of the industry that is a real pain for everyone as painless and transparent as possible and I don't think you want to appreciate that; we're evil, you're the knight in shining armour etc.
