I HATE THAT....how on earth do I go back to where I finished reading last....

    bum bum bum......horrible....horrible......MARTIN!!!!!!!!!

Sammy if you subscribe to the thread just click the tick before the title in your usercp. It will then take you to the last post you read. Then using the 'new' thing you just have to see if its 2 of 3, or you may 'miss' new posts, in which case just hit next. obviously if you want to check on a post you made you would have to hit previous or type in the page number.

Its really annoying for longer threads - if I want to check what I was doing last week on the running thread I'll now have to click 'previous' about 30 times!!!

No, just type a page number in the box and hit go. When you are at that page you can check the date and then use common sense/knowledge of the thread as to how many more pages to go back using the same tool. Simples :rotfl:

I dont particually like it as it clutters up the page but it does the job :j

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    okay moral dilemma.....

    bit of background...

five years ago FIL was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma....had chemo and has been in remission for the last four years...he is nearly 80...smokes a lot and drinks a lot...

has been for regular check ups every six months...everything has been fine or so I thought.

However, at the party on Friday night my drunk SIL confided in me that at his last check up something had shown up in his tests and did he want it investigating. He has said no.

SIL got this info from MIL...and no one else knows....however, all my inlaws have a deep rooted fear of cancer (as most people have I suppose) but its obsessive....

I can understand my FIL not wanting chemo or even wanting to put his family through the stress they went through last time and I know he doesn't want to be told to give up drinking and smoking.....but what do I do with this information... Do I keep it to myself because I wasn't told to.....Do I tell my OH who will firstly worry himself to death and then shout at his dad, who will then shout at the mum who has blabbed who will then shout at SIL and the other two SIL's will find out and freak about the cancer and immediately think he is about to die!!!!!! Do I talk to him (not easy as he is deaf and not an easy man to have such an emotional conversation with) or what?

To be honest I can quite happily sit on the information for a while yet, not that I am callous and don't care but I feel he is quite old enough to make his own decisions....I may be knee capped for keeping it to myself but its a risk I am prepared to take..but I somehow feel that SIL confided in me in the hope that I might do something....

    Sorry long post....

  • Hi all - hope you're well
Seem to have got my mojo back today. This morning I have cleaned cooker hob, knobs, hood and thing on the wall that gets covered in cr*p; the fridge; toaster and kettle; loads of washing done; caught up with emails I'd been putting off for a while; had lunch; caught up with accounts including chasing some looong overdue debts (we'll see how successful that was...).

I haven't got up and fannied around on t'interweb for hours in my dressing gown - first time for ages. God knows why today but I'll enjoy it while it lasts :D

    This afternoon i WILL
    1) get DSs enrolled on a couple of courses for September
    2) try to get fluorescent glow paint off their leather jackets (someone's bright idea at a do they were at last night was to go around chucking it on people - I can get-down-wiv-da-kidz with the best of 'em but JEEZ some people are thick!)
    3) start clearing out the 'classroom' ready for home-ed
    4) put off trying to sort out Tesco online shopping list

needed to see it in black & white :p

Hi Sammy, that's a tricky one!
Can you talk in confidence to FIL directly with your concerns?
