Sounds interesting BB but there is a lot of competition out there. Farmers Market would be the best place as there is only 1 that is already trading and she is always busy and often sells out (boasty's is the name and amazing chutney :) )

Well done on the job application bookie.....fingers crossed.

Toto - I would have done the same thing...it does sound a bit daft to have been given the ring back like that. I would report to insurance company - thats what insurance is for...If they try to give you vouchers you could always flog em on ebay

  • Glad the Vat went well Sammy. Big job off your list that.
BB - maybe worth a try as a sideline but I'd rather stay in a safe job!

I have come back down to earth with a bit of a bump this evening. Confidence has gone and I feel very blue and lonely. Seems a very long day.

    Never mind.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Early night tonight then!

I was thinking of you driving home Sally, thinking I really must thank Sally for giving me the boot up the backside I needed yesterday...It has been hard work....vat visits are stressful enough but when you consider the client is my sister in law who has the same tendancies as my OH she had me so worked up.....it would have been the easiest thing in the world to put it off again....

I treated myself to a KFC on the way home....

So the job of 'kicker up the backside is all yours whenever you want to start'

I've already got my PA in mind...:rotfl:

Sal - yep, that would have been my starting place, a farmer's market.

Sammy - yes, there are. I looked into it when I first left my old job and they come round and inspect your kitchen and then say how to be compliant. There's no definitive list of how to have your kitchen ready before being inspected, so it's a bit woolly really as to what you need. I know quite a few of the rules as I teach food hygiene but they are more for caterers in a business premises.

I guess I could do stuff like portions of fresh crumble, fruit sauces, fresh custard, but I think it's really already been done.

It was put to me as an alternative to earning money on AQA at the weekends (and also if I hadn't got the job I started today it was going to be put to me then), but I think the initial outlay would be a lot for the person who is interested and although I said what about if it went belly up and them saying it would be their risk to make, I couldn't live with being part of a failing business if I hadn't been the one putting the capital in.
