DS has been to spend some of his Birthday money at the Metrocentre, £50 on a skateboard............that has no wheels on it:eek:

Aparantly its called a deck, he already has a good set of wheels on his old board.

I have just had a lovely slice of chocolate Birthday cake, even at 14 he loves to blow out the candles:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Sometimes accidental is so I gues that can be classed as general stupidity lol

    I am such an idiot.

Basically, remember the watch the ex bought me that I want to sell. Well, I took that plus a diamond ring into the shop to get valued and another watch to have the battery done. I took the ring and the watch in their boxes. I seem to remember the guy giving me back the watch box but not the ring one, but he might have given me both and I just put the ring one in my bag... I can't remember.

I went to collect the 3 things and the guy gave me the envelope with the valuation plus the ring box (I think) and 2 envelopes with the 2 watches in. I put one watch right on my wrist and the other in my bag.

Anyway, just before i went away I thought I'd better put the ring and the 'for sale' watch in a drawer. So I took out the wooden ring box and put it in the drawer. I took the watch from the envelope and stuck that in its box.

I just went to photograph the ring because I thought I might as well sell that too... another ex item. So I opened the box and it was empty. I called the store and they said it would have been in the envelope in a little plastic bag with the watch. The one I threw away without looking in first. Any normal person would have looked in the stupid ring box before putting it in a drawer wouldn't they.

The whole story sounds a bit like insurance fraud to me though, even though it's total genuine stupidity. So I think I might have to just chalk this one up to being a plonker.

Toto I expect you have on your insurance single items or items covered whilst you are away. If you go to the police and say you have lost the ring somewhere between the valuation and home they will give you a crime ref number and you can claim for the lost item off your insurance. You will need to check the amount you are covered for. I have a high amount on mine for valuable items (engagement and wedding ring..another reason we are in debt) as if I lost them I want to know they are insured. You will be able to claim something for it regardless

Was just trying last night to sort photos out so will send them across later hun. There are a few cute ones of the gorgeous lilly..:)

  • I'd have probably done the same Toto if it wasn't something I wore. Claim depend on the value I suppose. The insurance company have probably dealt with much less likely things.
