  • This is a great thread! My no-compromise things are:

Branston Beans (but cheap anyway so...)
    Heinz light salad cream
    Hellmann's light mayo
    Ariel washing liquid
    fairy dishwasher tablets
    Andrex toilet tissue
Be Good to yourself Minced beef
    Activia yoghurts
    Heinz tomato soup
    Marmite
    Langley Farm cottage cheese
    Cravendale Milk
    Kerrygold lighter spreadable butter

I actually quite like the Aldi tomato ketchup and find it to be very like heinz in consistency and taste. I also like Aldi Benefit special K type cereal, which at £1.35 is half the price of Special K.

    Hi

There are certain things we have to stick with.
Heinz Ketchup & salad cream - (as someone else said) cheaper versions bring my kids out in a rash!!!
    PG or Typhoo T-bags
Persil washing powder/tabs - dh has really sensitive skin and loads of other irritate him, even other posh brands!
Kellogs cornflakes & branflakes...although this is mainly dh because the kids don't care and I don't eat cereal
Shower/bath stuff - mainly dove/simple (again dh skin)
    Flora Light spread

I think I pretty much buy whatever is on offer with everyhting else, so whether it's brand or not...I just go for the best offer

    love this thread!!

It has to be Heinz for beans and tomato soup
    Activia yoghurts
    Langley Farm cottage cheese
Weetabix - the own brand stuff is just wrong, wrong wrong!!!!!!!

Lots of people mention Cravendale milk - I feel like I'm missing out. Going to go out and buy some and do a 'taste test'!

I completely agree about Per Una jeans. My local M&S clearance had some reduced to £4.99 a pair last week...I was soooo chuffed. Only Per Una jeans fit me properly and the roma ones are so comfy.

The worst baby wipes have to be Huggies, they fall apart in your hand.

I'm also a fan of Per Una jeans.

I love huggies though (don't have a baby I use them as loo paper for that extra clean finish:o)

Heinz tomato soup, everything else I am sure I could change. I haven't found any tin of soup to taste even near this!

My DD will agree with you on this one.

Oooh! This is a gooood thread! :T

I won't buy Value sausages/meat products (other than the fresh meat IYSWIM)
    Spread-wise it's got to be whatever's on offer but a "brand" - I can't believe it's not etc,
And washing up liquid has to be a brand too - whichever's the best offer! (But not the green Persil or green Morning (I want to say Glory, but I KNOW that's not right!) - both of them, bizarrely make my hands dry!
We do howver buy LOTS of Value brands - including Fromage Frais for our toddler (after finding mould in a pot of little stars Urgh!!!)
I would also admit to being a Tea snob, and preffering my Typhoo...but OH brought the wrong ones back, and I'm now (amost) happily slurping on PG Tips!:o
