Hi peeps, sorry been mia this week; tbh I'm finding it a bit of a struggle to keep up with the thread and as I'm trying to spend less time on the pc I'm probably going to drop off the radar altogether.

thanks for being such a great bunch and for making me welcome and thanks of course, for the support and inspiration! I'll keep flying - I've made myself some customised flying lists a la pigpen! :D

I'll have a browse to see how you're all doing whenever I get chance and maybe catch some of you on other threads around OS; big hugs to all who need one smilies.gif

Afternoon everyone, I need help and advice on a big problem.

Remember I am looking after my best mates cat (lodgercat) as she is living in Bristol and can't have him in her rented accommodation. Well we are now in an awkward situation. Lodgercat is now unwell, I had to take him to the vets for some treatment as he wasn't eating and was generally losing weight and lethargic. Anyway he had some antibiotics and did pick up a wee bit which cost £32.00 and she didn't pay me, as I said not to worry as I thought it would be the only vist but now he has gone downhill again.

Although reasonably perkyish he still isn't eating and is only picking at tuna (about 2 tablespoonfuls) so I had to take him to the vets again this morning. He has had to stay in and have blood tests done and then 14 days treatment at home, depending on what the blood test results show, this is going to cost at least £106.00. This has now cleared me out of all my money that is in my account, which was to last me for the rest of the month until I got paid. I have had to put off a couple of things I was going to do because basically I don't have the money. She has told me by text that, because she has had to pay out £1500 to her solicitors this month due to her impending divorce, that she will have to pay me the vets fee next month, bearing in mind she doesn't actually know how much it is going to cost because I haven't told her the results yet.

This wouldn't be so bad but she gets her rent paid by the MOD and she took a £9000 pay increase when she moved, and there is only her to look after. So why can't she pay me the fees, she will quite happily go out to the theatre and a meal, or buy clothes at £25.00 a time, but says she can't pay me etc..

Oh and her rent for lodgercat was late this month as well, and even then I got the impression she resented having to pay me.

Dave and I have had a massive bust up over the phone as he reakons I am being taken for a ride and am too soft and should basically tell her how much and demand the money now, and tell her I am left short. Now she knows that Dave will help me out if I need money, but that is beside the point, besides I don't like asking him I want to be independent financially. I always end up going to him..and it's not fair when I have my own money, albeit a little bit, each month.

Dave and I have come to a compromise though, thankfully, after I threatened to take the cats and go. If I pay for the treatment for lodgercat then he becomes mine, that is if Nic doesn't pay me immediately. I also have to sort out the insurance and food for him each month, which I think is fair. He said this with Jet but eventually backed down and is paying for him now.

Also lodgercat doesn't have any insurance with my friend at the moment also, silly woman as I told her to get it.

What do I do? Do I risk losing the friendship and say I need the money this month and not next? Say I will pay all treatment and you hand the cat over permanently and then indirectly that saves you money as you won't have to pay for his keep etc.. Or what?

    Help..

    Hugs and love
    Natty xx

    Morning all
I have listed an item on e bay
I have cleaned my living room
    I have cleaned the bathroom
I have shown DS piccies of the kitties
I have notice that two kitties are girlies
I have asked DS if he wants two kitties - he does...
I am telling myself I don't want two girly kitties (but I so do...)
I have an older kitty - would it work?
Does Pigpen want to keep the kitties?

Here is my list for tomorrow:
[STRIKE] 1. unpack me and DS
    2. washing (not too much as did some at mums :)).
    3. Put craft stuff away.
    4. File mail.
    5. Work through emails.[/STRIKE]
All done :). Most of the washing is now dry and put away, although a couple of grobags on the line just now still a bit damp.
DH is off for a shearing (hair cut needed badly) and DS is napping, so off to rest/browse MSE for a bit.
Will be on Friday with another short list, probably featuring floor washing and hoovering if my back gets better.
    Ta ra for now.
PS hugs to all who need and congrats on interview Jo!
