Happy Birthday wishes to Neveah and Blimus DS

Hugs to all who need then

Natty - I would [nicely] explain the situation - as said before - if she is a friend she will pay, if her reasons for not paying come across to you as valid [and only you will know that] then ok you may have to wait till next month but as soon as you have the money then and only then suggest about keeping the cat - if she really doesn't want to pay you then you might stand no chance if she knows you want the cat for yourself. Hope that makes sense - good luck with it and keep us posted

    Helen x

PS - no flying today or yesterday as I feel awful.

I haven't done all those today, just haven't posted. The boys are finishing their room as well.

:bdaycake:Happy birthday neveah and blimus' DS!!:bdaycake:

Natty - I think I'd just ask for the money firmly and politely, and in reply to excuses, keep repeating calmly, I'm sorry but that's not my problem. I need you to pay for the vet's bill for your cat.

Still avoiding the packing... I also have a large pan of ratatouille, an empty linen basket...but I decided that really the gooseberry jam was a touch optimistic!

I have sorted out some of the stuff to pack, mostly all mine is on my bed, the teens will do the same with their stuff, and I'll just okay it before they put it in a bag. OH does his own, and between us we have all the paperwork/passports/maps/euros sorted too. I just have to double check food/drink and medicines. Then tomorrow, throw out any remaining fresh food that I can't pass on to my neighbour (not very much!).

I am off to do a few little bits in the garden now - de-cat-crap, cut the grass, pepper dust to deter felines, water plants, fill up watering cans, put gardening stuff inside garage.

    Love and hugs.

Dusty thats not good what are tax credits going to do about it? Is the error yours or theirs.

It's nobody's error it is the way the system works on the previous year's figures. DH got this share option thing at the end of the year which meant that they had been paying us too much all year. So they now want last year's money back and are counting the share thing in this year's prediction which means we get nothing but DH won't be getting it again - it is a one off thing relating to when you go permanent so our income for this year hasn't increased. We have told them this and are awaiting the new award and then I'll ask for a breakdown of what they say we owe as I've read so much about them getting it wrong - I want figures before they get the cash.

Finished in town now so I can pack the last of the dried food and then on to my clothes and the kids stuff can come off of the line now and into the bags.

If your friend was to put the cat in a cattery it would cost her up to £10.00 per day and then any vet bills would go on top of that.
I would not offer to take on the cat warts and all as she will just say yes and you will be out of pocket.
I would tell your friend that if she had taken out the insurance as advised she would not have so much to pay and let her know that the next time the cat needs a visit to the vet she will have to come and take it herself.
No friend should put upon you like that she is playing on your good nature.

    Hi guys

Happy Birthday Neveah :bdaycake: and Blimus' DS :bdaycake:

I'm so thrilled for you carlsberg gal woohoo!!!!!!!!! :j

*brain freeze* erm.... I'm sure there were lots of other things I was gonna comment on....hugs all round and that'll have to do :p

Decided to go to work on my bike today  I'm a sight to behold let me tell you, did it though AND I've got the car back just now so alls well with the world again.

Done not a lot in the house, S&S'd places and dailies but no flying and it's not like the bathroom and littleys room couldn't do with it  but y'know it'll still be there for whenever I get my a$$ into gear.

Ooooh natty I think she needs telling, you can't pay the vets bills so she'll have to. Can't you tell the vet to post her the bill?

Natty why don't you say that in future you'll give the Vet her name and address as you're only cat sitting and don't have the funds for treatment.

Does your friend have pet insurance?

  • Natty - I agree with all the others - she's putting on you BIG time and no true friend would. Just nicely explain that you NEED the money this month. You could also slip in that it's maybe time for her to take lodgercat now (idle threat) as I'm sure from what you've said she doesn't want the poor thing. Then when she mumbles and stutters, say "it's ok for now but I need that money by the end of the week". Then when she does pay, wait a few weeks and phone and say "look you obviously don't want him/her anymore, do you want me to keep forever?" Sounds a bit conniving put that way, but she's done the same to you. I would also, if your thinking about keeping forever start up an insurance plan ASAP
