  • AHHGGGGGGGG i have just spent over 1 1/2 hours on the phone with orange, i told them due to the changes to the call prices i want to excersise my right to cancel, they said that i could not cancel as i cant prove that it effects my calls as i have never called 0845 or free numbers from my orange phone, i told them i may start using them numbers and am not happy with the change in my contract, still the man said it is no detriment to me so i cant cancel is this correct?

Thats pretty much what i reported in my message too, however, i'm not letting it go, at the end of the day they breached their contract and its as simple as that in my opinion, so i'm going to keep trying (i think a few people on here have reported that even though they dont meet the "criteria" which orange have coveniently introduced, they were allowed to cancel) So maybe have another go, because legally you are entitled to cancel your contract, good luck!

    !!!! READ THIS !!!!!

Just off the phone to the Orange Executive Department disputing the fact that they wouldn't let me cancel my contract. The woman I spoke to said that a decision has been taken by the company overnight not to go ahead with the price changes after all and their prices will stay exactly as they are!!! Sounds like the consumer does have a say after all!! Or more than likely they just realised that they wouldn't have any customers left! Well done to everyone on all the forums that have been fighting for this!!
  • I have just called Orange and was told due to the amount of cancellations they have had they are no longer going ahead with the change in call price and that it would remain at 5p.They will be sending out texts to customers in the next week informing them.

...it's good but the majority of people have not been fighting for the price to remain the same...they've been fighting to get out of contracts...this is Orange's way to stop these attempts.....we used to call it cutting off your nose to spite your face:rotfl:

Well done everyone ringing and cancelling or trying to cancel. I personally didn't really want to leave either or my contracts as I am very happy with Orange and after my experience with 3 would never go there again. I was also concerned about getting future contracts with Orange if I bailed on the 2 I had. Anyway after a chat with them and the fact the charges wouldn't affect me as i never go over my minutes I got a £20.00 credit on both my accounts as a gesture. So happy that I got £40.00 out of them and no price increase.

    1. What part of what she said do you think is arrogant?
    2. The whole purpose of this thread is for people to get out of their Orange contracts.
    3. It's fairly obvious to me that Orange have done this because so many people are cancelling their contracts with them.

All of Pepperoni's comment seems completely valid to me, anyway!
Thanks to all who post constructively.
