Well I must be scum to Super Dad :rotfl:
I had two contracts with Orange Both of them 12 months into an 18 month contract, I cancelled both and sold the two phones for £90.00 each.
I have since got two new contracts back with Orange who didn't seem to mind to have me back, but on better terms than the previous contracts. Got two new Nokia 5800 phones and two free gifts Playstation 3's which once I sell the on ebay will nett me £400.00.
So thanks to Orange's mishap I am £490.00 better off, got two new contracts which are on better terms and have two new phones which will sell for £100.00 each in 12 months when I upgrade for new phones. In times like these I wouldn't blame anyone for making some extra cash.
you sicken me,.. you really do. :rotfl::T;)Hating Hastings Direct!0 -

you sound like a bitter and twisted wee guy, did your mum not breast feed you is that what it is?

I managed to LEGALLY terminate a contract and profit from it. This massive money making company didn't make a penny from me, I feel soooo ashamed. I AM SCUM...
This "massive money making company" could make £100 trillion a year for all I care, but I'd still consider this stealing if doing it for the reasons that you did.however, when you're on your own in your bedsit tonight and you've finished your can of spaghetti hoops, I want you to think about me. I'll be sat in my armchair with a tip-top phone, supping a coors light and watching the football on my new TV in the office.
I'd rather not think about you since there are far better things that I could be doing. In any case, people like you disgust me, and I'm in a reasonably good mood.
One thing I guess I could gloat over is the fact that I'm not so cheap as to steal a phone and TV. I guess it all comes down to the character of a person. Stealing is stealing, whatever form it takes. And I guess people/companies should be charitable to miserable failures such as yourself once in a while considering events such as this will be the only highlights of your pathetic lives.starrystarry wrote: »They probably didn't read your post throughly because they have better things to do than trawl through a load of sanctimonious twaddle.
Or maybe I used too many difficult words, even though I took great care to state things in a very simple manner. Obviously, it was still too complex for some idiots.starrystarry wrote: »It's people like you that make me steer clear of this website sometimes. It seems for every money saver who wants to share tips and help other people, you can guarantee there'll be some crashing bore who wants to lecture everybody else.
I'm not lecturing anyone. All I stated was that I consider it stealing, and it's not just me. Losers like "Super Dad" who think they have been wronged in some way by a company/society when they knew what they were getting into, then celebrate over the opportunity to get out of a contract which is detrimental to a company. However, said losers would be the first to whine when the company doesn't give a crap about him and his ability to pay any bills. People like him are the ones that disgust me - Want everything, but don't want to give anything back.
Yes, most companies need to be forced to lower prices etc for the benefit of all (Hence why this site is so great), not just greedy individuals such as this loser for all the wrong reasons. But my argument is just directed to those who see this as an opportunity to steal, capitalise and profit from a mistake.starrystarry wrote: »And please don't assume you're mentally superior to me, you have no idea.
You haven't given me any reason to assume that I'm not.Roger_Rampant wrote: »Incidentally the word is "weasel", not "weasle".
I thank you for the correction.

I'm not a "hater".
I just dislike greedy individuals. As I've stated in previous posts, if the changes affected you, I'd understand. But people are clearly capitalising on this. But whatever - Do what you like. I will still consider it stealing though.
Edit: With Starry's lame post below, and the fact that I don't wish to continue conversing with such a mentally deficient individual, I'm out of here. Enjoy stealing from Orange, folks.0 -

This is a forum for saving money. People post the latest opportunities here, and it is up to each individual to decide whether it is something that they want to do, or something that they are not really comfortable with. I don't really see the point in criticising those that choose to do something that you are not personally comfortable with. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valour.
Thanks to all who post constructively.

This site is about getting revenge on the big making companies who usually have no qualms in making big profits from their customers. Orange were quite happy to increase their prices in a text that I presumed was just the usual spam, until I read this post.
I assume that skydragon will think I am thick for not reading all spam texts. However, I should be able to trust a Co like Orange to keep to their T and Cs.
Hopefully this will teach them and other giants that they cannot always get the better of us.ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -

I assume that skydragon will spend the next couple of hours cutting and pasting all of the quotes on here to try and make her look cleverer than she really is. I'm off to 'weasle' out of another contract now. LOL.0 -

All contracts/phones have a short "cooling off period" when you sign up for a contract, normally 14 days. If problematic reception was an issue, why didn't you return the phone soon after you got it?
I can understand the problem, and in this case, I'd be inclined to say that you could use this as an excuse to weasle out of a contract, but for some reason, I think there are other reasons that you have.
Yes, you should have researched more regarding costs. Also, Orange Customer Services are a 10/10 for me. Although, and I am a little hesitant to ask, why do you find their Customer Services "appalling"?
No, you don't. If you read my post with a basic understanding of English, you'd have realised that.
I think you need to take a few more English lessons. Your reading skills are pretty poor.
Where did I say that it does? You completed your contract period. Aren't we talking about weaseling out of contracts prematurely because of changes so as to profit from it?
I see it with a different perspective - You signed up for a contract, got a free TV and got a "nice" phone. How much you paid Orange is irrelevant since you knew what you were getting into. You realised there was a way to effectively steal the TV and phone for free (Legally) and get the contract cancelled. You did just that and, as in the following part of your post, took out ANOTHER contract. In essence, you are the "lowest of the low" that I am referring to.
Well, you cancelled your contract and stole goods legally.
I will. I thought we had already established that in my first post.
You must be so proud of yourself. If only we could all profit from stealing and feel good about ourselves.
A thumbs up?
How dare you?! I am not sure why you feel the need to start personally attacking people on the site! My grasp of English is fine thankyou, I am well educated and perfectly confident in my ability to string together a sentance. I moved part way through the contract, hence I was out of the 14 day cooling period, I'm not really sure that I require you to analyse me or where the fact that you think 'that there are other reasons' come from. I am pleased that you have come across top customer services when dealing with Orange but there are pages and pages of comments on this site alone where people have struggled with their customer service staff, as have I. I struggle to pay Orange's high costs, hence why I would have liked to end my contract early, this site is called Money Saving Expert...go figure! I'd like to save some money!
I find it a real shame that you have come in to this and gone a bit nutty having a go at people, I use the site because there are a lot of people on here with nice & extremely helpful advice and things to say (thanks Maxtweenie!). People who have really helped me to SAVE MONEY...maybe this is not the right place for you!
PS. If anyone has a poor grasp of English it's probably the guy who said the words 'stole goods legally'0 -
Dear all - please now all ignore skydragon. This arrogant and nasty person is just trying to provoke people to respond. Please, no more responses to this bitter and arrogant person who can not understand the point of mse and the fundamental reasons it was set up. Take care everyone
