I rang up Orange again today as i have got a new contract only to be told i wasnt allowed to continue with my disconnection as the prices are no longer changing. I was not impressed, especially as i hadnt been informed of this change. .. what am i meant to do with 2 phones? I got passed to a manager, at this point i thought why be nice with them when they are treating me like im thick and speaking down to me. I think they were expecting me to back down but i stood my ground and was told if i used the pac code my contract would be cancelled :)

My orange phone has absolutely no reception in my house and cuts out constantly in places where I do manage to get reception.

All contracts/phones have a short "cooling off period" when you sign up for a contract, normally 14 days. If problematic reception was an issue, why didn't you return the phone soon after you got it?

I can understand the problem, and in this case, I'd be inclined to say that you could use this as an excuse to weasle out of a contract, but for some reason, I think there are other reasons that you have.
I find their customer services appaling and I find that the costs are higher than other service providers, whilst the costs are something I should have made myself aware of before signing up

Yes, you should have researched more regarding costs. Also, Orange Customer Services are a 10/10 for me. Although, and I am a little hesitant to ask, why do you find their Customer Services "appalling"?
The changes would have affected me as I constantly go over my minutes so I'm not sure whether I fit in your 'lowest of the low' group. Thanks for your input though!

No, you don't. If you read my post with a basic understanding of English, you'd have realised that.

Skydragon, get over it! It sounds to me like you didn't have the bottle to ring them up, so don't have a go at those who did.

A woman just politely phoned me from Orange and informed me earlier today that they've decided to cancel the changes and that if it was okay...

I think you need to take a few more English lessons. Your reading skills are pretty poor.

Yes, I knew what I was signing up to... Yes I have had a contract phone since I was 18 and yes every time a contract is up I get a FREE gift from a different company. How that makes me low is beyond me!

Where did I say that it does? You completed your contract period. Aren't we talking about weaseling out of contracts prematurely because of changes so as to profit from it?

The way I see it is like this... I signed up to a contract. I got a free TV. I got a nice phone. I paid orange a lot of money every month....Orange changed that contract and I exercised my RIGHT to cancel.

I see it with a different perspective - You signed up for a contract, got a free TV and got a "nice" phone. How much you paid Orange is irrelevant since you knew what you were getting into. You realised there was a way to effectively steal the TV and phone for free (Legally) and get the contract cancelled. You did just that and, as in the following part of your post, took out ANOTHER contract. In essence, you are the "lowest of the low" that I am referring to.

I have just taken delivery of ANOTHER new 32" TV... plus £40 cash back... plus a new phone and I'm paying the same as I was this time last week.

HOW EXACTLY DOES THAT MAKE ME SCUM??!

Well, you cancelled your contract and stole goods legally.

    Pity me all you want...

I will. I thought we had already established that in my first post.

So I get loads of "healthy" beer. a new phone, new TV, cash on the hip, and take the family out for a memorable day on the cheap... my word, I am scum (and very tight with money!!) all for a phone call to Orange... my god, i'm sooooo stupid!!!

You must be so proud of yourself. If only we could all profit from stealing and feel good about ourselves.

P.s... i'm making a hand gesture in your direction... can you guess what it is?

    A thumbs up? :)

Not convinced it's possible to steal something legally actually. Perhaps you need a better understanding of basic English yourself. And to get off your high horse.

I'm not sure how what I said has anything to do with my knowledge of English since surely English Law would be a relevant area to explore?

However, those who I did respond to genuinely seem to be lacking basic English reading skills. Don't you agree?

If you read back through your very tedious previous post I think you'll find that you were suggesting that other people should have a basic understanding of English.

Yes, because they didn't read my post correctly and I corrected them. Thus, if they had read my post thoroughly with a basic understanding of English, they'd have seen that I had made that point clear and obvious for all. I've met immigrants who can barely put together whole sentences that have better reading skills than that lot.

In any case, it appears that you're just as bad as them. Good try though, if a little boring, since I get bored of correcting people who are mentally inferior to me.

every so often you meet someone who is so far up their own a rse that you'd just love to give them a really good slappin'...

like I said.. I feel so stupid for doing what I did. I managed to LEGALLY terminate a contract and profit from it. This massive money making company didn't make a penny from me, I feel soooo ashamed. I AM SCUM...

    Everybody... after 3... 1, 2, 3.. "super_dad is scum"... well done everyone.

thumbs up? not quite... however, when you're on your own in your bedsit tonight and you've finished your can of spaghetti hoops, I want you to think about me. I'll be sat in my armchair with a tip-top phone, supping a coors light  and watching the football on my new TV in the office.

I'll glance down at my termination confirmation (if only your parents had done a similar thing!) and smile.

    happy days!

    once again...

They probably didn't read your post throughly because they have better things to do than trawl through a load of sanctimonious twaddle.

It's people like you that make me steer clear of this website sometimes. It seems for every money saver who wants to share tips and help other people, you can guarantee there'll be some crashing bore who wants to lecture everybody else.

And please don't assume you're mentally superior to me, you have no idea.

Well I must be scum to Super Dad :rotfl:

I had two contracts with Orange Both of them 12 months into an 18 month contract, I cancelled both and sold the two phones for £90.00 each.

I have since got two new contracts back with Orange who didn't seem to mind to have me back, but on better terms than the previous contracts. Got two new Nokia 5800 phones and two free gifts Playstation 3's which once I sell the on ebay will nett me £400.00.

So thanks to Orange's mishap I am £490.00 better off, got two new contracts which are on better terms and have two new phones which will sell for £100.00 each in 12 months when I upgrade for new phones. In times like these I wouldn't blame anyone for making some extra cash.

Incidentally the word is "weasel", not "weasle". :rotfl:
