INSIST???????? You signed up for it!!!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest asking for help reasonbly. Credit card cos/banks don't lie. They can help but only under the card owners (ie, Visa, Mastercard) regulations. It can be longwinded but it is the only way to deal with these things.

Comments like yours, BFG, make me angry...GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!!!

    :mad: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Firstly, step away from the keyboard, put down your handbag and take a few deep breaths,.....there, feel better??

CCCs and banks DO lie [ask MSE'ers.]

The point I was making was that many [if not all] cccs/banks will try to fob off the customer rather than do a chargeback straightaway....again ask MSE'ers and see what they've found.

    HTH

BTW, which FACTS DID I GET WRONG????? [shouty man]

All Risk Free Trial Orders must be cancelled within the 10 day trial period. Your 10 day trial begins the date the order was shipped from our warehouse. In order to ensure your not billed for the trial, you must obtain a Return of Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number by going to http://cancel.extreme-white.co.uk. Once you have received your RMA Number, you must return your Free Trial Kit to the address below and must address your package using the format below. All returns must be sent via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery and you must keep record of your tracking number. To prevent your credit or debit card from being charged, we must receive your Free Trial Kit in our warehouse within 7 calendar days from the date you were given your RMA Number with a minimum of 3 unused teeth whitening syringes (i.e. you must not have used more than one syringe).
    Return Address:
    Extreme-White
    Returns Department
Order #: (include your order number here) **
    Horizon West Canal View Rd,
    Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 5XF
    United Kingdom
** Be sure to input your order number on this line. Without your order number, we will be unable to identify the order as yours
and therefore unable to process your refund.
*** Be sure to have RMA# clearly visible on OUTSIDE of package.
Returned trial kits will be subject to a Return Processing Fee of £6.99
If you return your trial kit or maintenance kit without an RMA number, you will be assessed a further £10.00 fee for incorrectly returned package.

It's a bit complicated, but it looks to me as if you have to pay £6.99 to return your free trial kit in order to cancel. (and an extra £10 if you don't put the number on it)

Me too....aargh but even worse I have done two. An american company called dazzlewhite pro....I fell for a "use both for a best effect" scam.

Has anyone who paid by credit card successfully stopped this. What are the likely costs if you keep to all their terms and conditions.

    Thanks
  • To 'A Realist' - thanks for the 'you are all stupid' post but I don't think that benefits anyone really. What a waste of your time just to annoy anyone who reads this thread.

To 'Fiendishly' - I posted an email I had from Consumer Direct stating what the distance selling regulations are. Their returns procedure does not meet these regulations and you DO NOT have to pay a restocking fee OR return it within 10 days of them supposedly shipping it. Your rights are more generous than that and all you have to do to cancel is to send their template email which i also posted.

To 'Wortle' - Dazzle White Pro are something else altogether as they are based in America. When signing up to that one, you automatically sign up to them and two other companies for subscriptions. You need to phone all three of these, which are American numbers, in order to cancel. They're a far dodgier operation as you're not covered by our consumer laws. However, they can still be cancelled - it takes a lot more determination though and the faster you do this, the better. Best of luck. There are more threads on Dazzle White Pro if you do searches - there's also more if you do a google search too.

    Good luck everyone.

  • hi all im new to all this yes but i too fell for the scam, sent them an email which i stated that it was a scam and i was going to report them. i never received nothing so when i contacted my bank and told them they stopped my card and said they were going to investigate my claim and hopefully they would get my $59.99 back. low and behold got an email from extreme white defending there product but also cancelling my aggrement with them, just hope my bank will get my money back. i would like to thank all the positive post on here helped a lot. a leason well learned just hope it wasnt an expensive one.
  • Hi! Newbie here too! I fell for this one. Took out the free trial and was charged £3.99 then £59.99 and received nothing. Wrote to them yesterday saying I had received no goods whatsoever and quoted "Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000". I have received an email back:
"I am sorry you did not receive your order. I have issued a full refund to your account. Please allow 3-7 business days for the credit to appear in your account. We have closed your account and you will not receive any future shipments."
Here's hoping! I shall be keeping a close watch on my account!
  •:mad: very angry with myself, I have also fallen for this. I have just had another birthday & decided that I should try the teeth whitening...... why didn't I do a google search????

I have spoken to my cc company & they have assured me that as they have cancelled my card & had one re-issued I will definitely not be responsible if any more monies are taken off my card.........HOWEVER, some how the card details must have been passed to other companies as there are at least 8 transactions on my card in US$ that are not mine, so please every one be very aware of this. (Luckily for me my statement arrived soon after they started).

The worst thing is thinking that someone out there has my info:mad::mad:

& there was me thinking older is wiser!!!

  • Just received a full refund!:j
Will still be keeping an eye on my account for anything coming out from New York!
Anyone think I should still change my CC?

As I posted earlier they are registered in the US, so I don't think our consumer protection authorities can touch them.

People can use the econsumer website to file a complaint - it is very important that people do this as the more complaints (and information) they get the more likely they are to take action.
    http://www.econsumer.gov/english/

    ( econsumer
is is a site specifically set up for consumers to report complaints about online transactions with foreign companies and the information is shared between the relevant authorities in several countries to help them deal with fraud and other consumer complaints.)

The company behind the dazzle white scam is based in Canada apparently. They have also previously been taken to court by Microsoft for software piracy:

There is also some information on this website which has investigated various online scams - Dazzlewhite have used addresses in Durham (UK) the US and Cyprus.

As they have given an address in County Durham as their 'world headquarters':
http://strangelyperfect.tv/4308/google-revolution-different-name-same-scam/#comment-1589 it is probably worth emailing or phoning the Durham police as well so they can investigate it locally?
