    Same problem.

Received a parking ticket from TPS for parking over their intended stay period.

    Ignored it.

Received a letter reminding me of payment from TPS.

    Ignored it.

Received a second letter again reminding me of payment but now with a higher price and warning that if not settled then further action would ensue.

    Ignored it.

Received a letter from Roxburghe Debt Collectors attempting to recover a now even higher amount. Informed of 7 days to pay or will be passed on to solicitors.

    Ignored it.

Now received a letter from Graham White Solicitors titled Invoice of Intending Legal Action. Intended litigation is happening before legal proceeding are issuesd in the County Court. I have 7 days to settle or it's court and bailiffs.

Was not bothered about all the previous letters as I'd read many posts on many forums saying just to ignore them. But I'm starting to get a little worried now that it's in the hands of a solicitor.

What action should I take now and, if I need to, who do I direct it at?

    Cheers

Keep doing what you have been.

    Ignore it.

Do a search for Graham White Solicitors on here and you will see you have nothing to fear.

"Graham White" is a Trading name.

Your research will, or should, reveal all you ever need to know about this 'arrangement'.

It's a scam, ignore, it is every bit as phishy as a 419, but is just the right side, sometimes of criminal harassment.

Yep, and that letter is shown here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

Look at the GW letters listed under Central Ticketing and UKPS (whose debt collectors also use variants of the GW letters). You'll find your latest letter and then you'll see a sneak preview of the last one you'll get in about a fortnight. Laugh when you get it, you will have the whole set! :D

And worry not about them being 'solicitors' since that's a misnomer, as coblcris rightly says, it's just a trading name.

In fact those letters get sent out by none other than your old friends, Roxburghe Debt Collectors, same people you've ignored before. If by any chance someone saying they are Graham White phones you up (it's rare but has been heard of) wind them up by saying, 'oh, you're Roxburghe Debt Collectors passing yourselves off as 'GW' again are you? I will report your harassment' and then put the phone down.

Pepipoo thread showing how Roxburghe pass themselves off as 'GW':

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=52809

That's all it is, another Roxburghe threat. Nearly over! :T

    hi all
i just got a badly photocopied pcn from tps wanting 50 quid .
my car was parked in the local dunelm/mfi car park.
the leter states i overstayed my limit .
few points here, 1 there is no sign at the entrance to say the car park is monitored, 2 they say there are prominent signs displayed but they are few and 10 feet in the air and not in line of sight, 3 the signs list mfi as a client (company has ceased to exist) 4 the cctv system is not signed at all just a small mention on the vague signs
i have taken photographs of all this and even a carpark sign for a different company with a view to sending an arsey letter,
    any advice folks

Yes I have very good advice for you ;)

    IGNORE THE SCAMMERS
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Only send the arsey letter to the RETAILERS who are on site.

The more complaint letters they get about their customers (and potential customers) being harassed by their pet PPC the more likely these parking contracts will be cancelled in the long run.

I know you WANT to moan to the PPC but please, it's pointless writing to the monkeys when you want to address the organ-grinders, so to speak.

Those monkeys will carry on with their harassing letter-chain whatever you write to them so forget them. They are not worth a stamp except to send them an anonymous 'special PPC Christmas card' as per our thread here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2111771

Might be fun to include part of your cut-up bogus ticket in there with the Christmas card, like confetti (obviously only cut up the part that does NOT identify anything at all, not your car, the location, time, ref no). That would annoy them to see a card from a clued-up victim who clearly won't be paying!

  • i parked in a disabled bay with my blue badge but as i was unwell i overstayed.when TPS sent me a fine ,out of good manners i wrote to explain that i was taken ill and was not relying on my blue badge for parking over their time limit.i did not know their time limit as i only slept in my car until a store assistant let me use their loo.she was very helpful as i had my sleeping grand-daughter with me so she carried her into the store in her car seat.when i explained to TPS they asked for a copy of my blue badge and dropped the fine from £40 to £20 if i pay within 7 days.i will not be paying anything as i realise this is a scam but happy to write to them to discuss it.
