Talk Talk Warning.

Hi. You say 'prices change' and of course they do. But 6 months ago we made an agreement with Talk Talk for a certain provision from them at a set monthly cost from us and this was to run 18 months. If at the end of the 18 months they were to say that the price was going up we would understand it. However we made an 18 months arrangement that we intend to honour and they don't. We are waiting for Emma to come back to the Forum to clarify this, but this can't be right.0

Yes, that is okay. Nothing wrong with increasing prices. Confusion and obfuscation about new minimum terms is silly. But prices change.
.
That would be OK if Talk Talk provided a value for money service, sadly they do not.
Clearly their telephone helpline is as much use as a chocolate fireguard, and an online forum is not much use if a customer has no access to the internet.0 -
'Migration to the new billing system', lol.
Subtitled: Sh*t, look at all those loyal punters on those attractive deals we seduced them into joining us on. Is there some way we can get these paying more? What about a 'new billing system' which can't bill on those old deals? Genius. I'll have a look on ebay for a Sinclair ZX Spectrum ..
Had a look on their forums the other day and it's full of punters doing their nut and alleging mis-selling - many of them were on free intl option and weren't informed this no longer applied on these super duper new deals. Result? Charged for intl calls. Big blow out. Talktalk management decide to refund all the call charges. Organise up p*** brewery they a in couldn't.Call me Carmine....

Hi Keys,
The current tariff changes being made as a result of migration to the new billing system are allocated on a best fit basis depandant on your current tariff and your usage. If you have received a letter that states a change is needed then this means your current tariff would not be available on the new billing system. There may be alternatives available for you on the new billing system if you would like me to look into this for you. I would need to know your current tariff for voice services, if you have broadband with TalkTalk and if so what monthly fee you currently pay and if you have line rental services. If you are unsure on any of this then I can take a look at your account but I would need you to post at https://www.talktalkmemebers.com/forums.
Cheers

Thank you for coming back Emma, much appreciated.
We have the Talk Global broadband package and a Talk Talk line but it only began its 18 months run in September 2008 (just 11 months ago) so it has another 7 months to run.
We have had no letter whatsoever. Your colleague who phoned up, as we said above, quite out of the blue, seemed to us to be evasive and pushy. (He began by saying that he was calling to let us know that 0845/0870 were now free of charge as we were valued customers and would we like to upgrade our broadband? When we said we were happy as we were thank you, he became annoyed and it was only at that point he said that the service we have agreed with you was 'obsolete').
Emma, we have had no letter at all and we have checked with two other households (in other parts of the UK) and they have neither had letters nor phone calls either.
The TalkTalk customer service team are normally really nice so we don't know what has happened in this case. This incident is proving very worrying and we would be grateful for some help. Thanks.0 -
Hi Keys,
It seems you have been affected buy the recent up-sell campaign and not the migration issue. There is a sticky on the TTMF forum regarding this here. If you have any questions after reading this please let me know.
Cheers

We've discovered we've also been moved to a nearest fit tariff, but only because I queried the new bill. No communications whatsoever.
It looks like we've lost our free evening calls, which are the most common type we make by far. The trade-off is cheaper international calls, apparently ... and we've never made an international call in the many years we've been with them.
This is a disgraceful way to treat long-time loyal customers, and I've demanded we go back to our old tariff and have the relevant call charges refunded. They have agreed, but as of yet it hasn't actually happened.
I would advise talktalk customers to actively check their bills, tariff details, itemised info etc.
If they don't resolve my issues, I will be off elsewhere. Perhaps, as I had a very good value old package, this is actually what they want?0 -
You weren't paying enough, simple as. The 'new billing system' is smoke and mirrors. What company pay money to have a super new billing system installed that can't bill ALL their customers? It's nonsense of the most nonsensical kind.Call me Carmine....
