It's very ironic when you consider they were slagging BTs admittedly disgaceful rolling contracts in the press not so long ago.Call me Carmine....

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've been involved in some meetings over the migration to the new billing system and I have been informed that new tariffs will not incurr a connection fee or a new contract term.
Cheers

We posted this on 6th but am reposting for your advice, please.
Hi Emma (TalkTalk)
Emma, thank you for posting to explain things. We haven't had a letter but we have had 3 phone calls in one day. [Over the last 12 days have checked with 2 friends also on TalkTalk and they haven't had letters either - nor have they had phone calls out of the blue]. So can we ignore these changes for the time being, please? Also Martin, in his home phones section writes: "For those on TalkTalk's old version [our edit] Otherwise you'll be automatically swapped over when your current contract ends". Emma, as our 18 month contract won't end for a year can we stay on our existing tarrif until then? Many thanks.0 -

<sarcasm on.That's all right then.</sarcasm>Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Yes, that is okay. Nothing wrong with increasing prices. Confusion and obfuscation about new minimum terms is silly. But prices change.
The situation is even sillier with broadband tariffs - there are customers with subsidised costs from the days of dial-up. They have been paying £9.99 for years even when the standard costs are £16-£18. Instead of being pleased about the subsidised bargain they have received for years they start moaning now that they have to pay the market price. And they would not be happy with more gradual annual reviews either.
There's no pleasing some people.0
