I had an Ebay item delivered yesterday that was processed 2nd July and the seller had already refunded me on. Another wave of strikes will mean more loss and delay.

With 3,000,000 on the dole, sack the lot of 'em and recruit people who want to work.
  • Of course, from October, when the new selling rules kick in, we sellers will be hammered in our DSRs, losing our discounts in the process, due to the ineptitude of RM.

I'm quite surprise at the lack of support, I'm not fully up to date with the details but I know the government and the management at Royal Mail have been messing about with it for years and still don't know what they want to do with it.

I'm amazed that they still have their Chief Executive, since he's been there Adam Crozier has presided over nose diving profits and a tripling of salary to a reputed £3million/year. All that while cutting the workforce and closing down post offices.

Anyone who thinks they will lose discounts because of the strike and ultimately lose their business have got serious problems, not only should they have some kind of back up or communication system set up so buyers wouldn't be aggrieved, also if the 20% FVF discount will make that much difference then the whole business plan is flawed.

I think I'm turning socialist in my old age.

I'll be honest,i'm not a fan of strikes and my office as a whole seems to agree as they voted against just this week.
however the direction RM are trying to push the business is not the way ebay sellers will want.
as ive said they can vote with their custom as i bet in a few years they will look back on the good old days of now.

I'm so booooooored of the continuous postal strikes in London...firms across the country are having to make cut backs. It's just not a good time for strikes if they want to get any public support. AND I'm more unhappy than usual as a gift my sister sent to me went missing a while back, grrrrrr :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I spoke to our postie yesterday about the strikes. She said its the Militants Down south. I don't know the ins and outs of the reasons for the strike so cant really comment. I know our local post post wont be effected but obviously anything i'm sending down south could be effected

Shows how much your postie knows then . . .
    From BBC website:-

    AFFECTED SITES
Friday - Birmingham vehicle operation centre; Burslem; Coventry Parcelforce Hub; Edinburgh mail centre; Essex regional distribution centre; Huntingdon; London; Northampton national distribution centre; Peterborough delivery office
Saturday - Boston; Bristol delivery offices; Dalkeith; Edinburgh; Peterborough and Skegness
Monday - Ipswich mail centre; King's Lynn; Stanton; Bury St Edmonds and Thetford in Suffolk
    Tuesday - Stoke-on-Trent

Lst time I checked Edinburgh was up north in Scotland. Or do you live so far up there that as far as you're concerned Edinburgh is "down south"?:rotfl:
