I honestly don't know, but I know we looked into it and it was not something we could do.
I think payroll runs probably get a discount.. But it will cost, yes.

Could be offset by the cost of paying a company to raise cheques.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

Regards,
For most companies bacs payments / Direct Bank Payments are the cheapest form of payment means. As it is less paperwork for the bank. Therefore bank charges are less.
As for the firm i work for it costs us more than much more a cheque payment (£0.58) compared with a Direct bank Payment (£0.37)
But i would imagine the reason the Cashback is paid by cheques is that it is another chance for the payment not to be made. As the person receiving the cheque may not bank it. (mobiles have filled there side of the deal by sending the cheque to the customer)
And in effect in terms of a business stategy it is good as it further reduces the amount of money paid over. As if they were all direct bank transfers it would be 100% payment rate, but i bet that it is closer to 95% than 100% for cheque payment. (%'s are my assuption and not fact)
Ben do not think that when i have posted, i am flaming your company. The job i do gives me access to alot of information on companies very easily. And the CCJ info i post proves this.
On another note I think that mobiles.co.uk do offer good deals. As my wife used mobiles for her recent iPhone purchase. (Via Quidco Cashback)0 -
CPW have paid me several times by BACS.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

I think one of the reasons we ended up with cheques is that a bounced BACS or whatever is time-consuming and expensive to trace, as well - so if a customer closes their account etc. With a cheque, we send it to the address on the bill we receive and job done.
I'll certainly look into bank payments again, as part of my work on speeding these things up.
Thanks for the info,“Official Company Representative

Have you seen the stats. More people get divorced than change their bank accounts!
:rotfl:
Leave it up to the customer to let you know - the same as millions do with empoyers or maybe more to the point those who receive such things as share dividends twice a year.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
..also why not send texts reminding people each time a cash back is due, ie "please email this months bill to us to receive ££ cash back". Seem to get text updates for everything else??0
-
Hans - now that would be "spoon feeding". A simple A4 Sheet of paper listing the dates of bills/date bill due to arrive/date cashbacks need to be sent would suffice.
I am surprised how many people on here say - well you just have to be organised to get your cashbacks.
I am VERY organised and send them off at the correct point. I use Royal Mail Guaranteed Next Day Delivery which costs just under £5 each time. I know some people think this is going over the top, but I chose to use this method and am aware of the cost each time.
This still does not seem to put CPW trying to get out of paying at various points.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
Wondering if the Representative on this site can help...
I ordered a mobile, with a 350GBP automatic cashback deal - reference available upon request - at the start of October. It is now November 18th and my cheque has still not been received, despite your website stating '21 days' processing and '8 working days' to receipt. My mathematics says you are considerably behind on your own timescale.
I was told that my cheque was dispatched on October 27th-29th (they weren't sure of the date!) and it would take '21 days' from this date to reach me. It does not take 21 days for a letter to divert across the British Isles, especially to Glasgow, no matter how messed up the RM is at the moment.
I emailed in on Monday, my second enquiry, and still havent' had a reply.
Not exactly the best experience so far, despite ordering another mobile from your company on Monday. I hope further cashback claims won't be like this!0 -
Hi,
The cheque being "dispatched" refers to us passing your details onto Carphone Warehouse's secure cheque printers, unfortunately this process can take up to 28 days (something which we're not happy about and are trying to change, but as you can imagine this is not simple). During the period you mention we've also experienced the postal strikes, which may have had an impact.
I have already emailed someone to get the part of the site you refer to updated to be more realistic about how long the process can take (from our experience 8 days was the norm, but this was 2 years ago when we tested the process) and please accept my apologies for both the time it takes the cheque to arrive and the lack of response to your email from Monday. Like I said I am working to make Carphone's process faster but this is taking more time that I'd have hoped.
Please email me, ben at mobiles, if the cheque hasn't arrived by the 26th (28 days after the 29th October)?
