The customer would prefer to have answers which are true and relevant and the company can ignore the t&c and put up smoke-screens is what you mean.

Having browsed this thread I just wanted to say that I've used mobiles.co.uk for two phone contracts now with different providers.

If you're organised about the cashback (just mark it on your calendar as a reminder) then there should be no problem. You can submit your bills by email to their cashback address (although they don't seem to publicise that, I found out from a query I made) so you don't have to pay recorded delivery charges. Like any company I've ever used not everything was perfect but in general I have no complaints - some of the offers are amazing if you can be bothered with the effort of cashback. You can go through quidco too for extra money...

See above which was posted earlier. This would be SO much simpler.

Another idea is for you to pay the cash direct to our bank accounts. We supply these details when ordering so you have them. It would avoid the costs of preparing and sending out cheques. I think it would also be much quicker.

Agreed - I'm looking to get the site updated to reflect this on Monday/Tuesday (*ducks*)

We used to do this, actually via a refund to the card as we don't have a Direct Debit licence ourselves (Direct Credit and Direct Debit are 2 sides of the same coin).

Visa and Mastercard told us to stop it, they don't like "refunds" unless it's actually a refund of funds the card was used for in the first place.

We also spoke to the networks about refunding it onto customer's bills but that didn't get very far either.

Visa and master card are credit cards. I was talking about bank accounts via BACS or whatever it is called now. We have to supply you with our account details to set up the monthly dd to the phone company.

Yep - but the only method we could use for this is called "Direct Credit", and is not something we could do as we do not have a Direct Debit (same thing, one's money in, one's money out) license. Obviously we pass your bank details onto the phone company, who do have the right to use a Direct Debit.

A simple alternative would be to refund the cashback onto your card, but cards expire or get cancelled and Visa and Mastercard (who set the rules, no matter who your bank is) won't let us.

BACS costs about £20 a go, I think, so over a 5-claim cashback scheme we'd have to knock £100 off the available cashback.

So all those Organisations who pay their employees by BACS pay £20 per person every month?
