Rainmac - Please be careful mrs xxx
Sally - Beautiful card!! very impressive!! ... sorry to hear about your son, not really sure what to say. Hope things go ok for your OH. When I had my scan I sat (or should I say lay) and cried the whole way through because of the pain, the woman who did the scan had to help me up off the bed thing when it was over as I couldn't move!
I have just bought another digi stamp! now just need to make a card with it!!
I need some male inspiration? I need to make OH a birthday card (less than 2 weeks away) and I am drawing a complete blank!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I've just got one of my orders
Was asleep (OH couldn't get to sleep until 5.30am, so I couldn't sleep either...he's got an exam at 2pm!!) when he phoned, so almost missed it.
Anyway, its got lovely stamps in it, and I've got a stamp pad...any advice for me before I try for the first time?Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

Lift the coating off the stamp with sticky tape before first use (you wont see this coating), you'll get a clearer impression that way.
Don't be too heavy handed. Don't squish your stamp into the pad. Place your stamp upside down on your desk and gently tap the stamp pad onto the stamp. Practice stamping onto some scrap paper first. Press stamp firmly onto your paper/card but try not to rock or move the stamp as this will blur the impression. Lift the stamp straight up, again so as not to blur the image. Leave to dry for a couple of minutes depending on what stamp pad you are using. When you've got the hang of it have a go on your card.
My friend took ages to get it right and almost gave up (she's impatient!). It just needs practice and once you've done it you'll be hooked!
Have fun.
PS - if it's a large stamp you'll need to press all over, e.g. hold middle down and with other hand press corners but don't move the stamp. Hard to explain but you should get the hang of it once you've had a go.0 -
Thank you so much
I'll let you know how it goes!!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
if it's a big stamp you can try puffing on it as well after covering in ink but before you press it down- the huff in your breath makes the ink a bit damper.
having re-read that sentence it sounds like twaddle. But i promise it works!craft craft craft!0 -
Has anyone seen a red with white polkadot freebie paper on their travels?? or even have an old one on their pc please?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

Craftygranny - Thinking of you all.
Sally - sorry to read about what has happened with your son - I think you are right in that it is prob. the lying that is the upsetting bit ((hugs)) p.s. your countdown card is brilliant!
Hope not forgot anybody - trying to put comments on blogs as I go - sorry if missed anybody.
Oh - thanks for the info on stamping and ordering from the u.s. folks. I am a bit of a scaredy cat about ordering stuff that is not in the UK.0 -
Well, 6 pages later
, I am finally at the end of what I have missed. Hope you are all ok in the snow today. My car slid across the road on the way to school today and neary hit another car , luckily it didn't but it was scary nonetheless. Walking to pick DS1 up this afternoon with some other mums, going to be freezing, it's a blinking long way. Will need copious amounts of hot chocolate when we get back to help thaw out
Haven't managed to look at blogs yet today but just about to (supposed to be ironing but that can wait). Need to make a cuppa first I think.
Well done on the win flourgirl and have you ordered your machine yet??? I order the odd thing from the US and do a currency conversion like Padster mentioned to check how much the item is before pressing the order button
Marg, your card was lovelyas are your new ones
Popkins, huge congratulations on being asked to make the wedding invites. It is a large number, do you have anyone who could share the work with you?
Glittermum, sorryfor sharing the Kaisercraft site but admit it, it's great isn't it
Love the look of the heart mobile!
Right, off to pop the kettle on (again) and check blogs xxx
Rainmac just be careful on your way back to school. Thank goodness the snow has cleared from the roads round here, I'm fed up of it now. I haven't ordered the machine yet as I'm still waiting for a reply email from Crafts u Love to see if they have one in stock. After being outbid on ebay for 4 different radley bags I have made up my mind to order one but want it straight away, might even pay for next day delivery lol. Shame about your lottery win I'd like to know a millionairestill a win is a win!

Just to keep on topic, I did manage to get some time to make this birthday card for a work colleague.
I love this card, it is very cool.
Sorry to hear about the cigarettes. I've no advice I'm afraid. I don't have kids and I've never smoked so can't even give any personal experiences. Hope you get it sorted.
My craft superstore stuff arrived today finallyGot some a4 storage boxes, a peel off folder and a HUGE circle punch.
Am beginning to think maybe I should have asked for a Cuttlebug. It's cost me nearly £40 to buy 4 circle punches. But that was the main reason I wanted a Cuttlebug and I'm not sure I'd make use of it for much else except alphabets. I can make squares and rectangles from simply trimming, and I have a corner punch. I don't _need_ alphabets as there are many ways, including stamping and printing to have text on the page.0
