I didn't get the offer yesterday, I was tempted but I have seen the flowery stack and also the teen papers and I didn't really like them so didn't bother ... I do love DCWV papers though!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Well, 6 pages later
, I am finally at the end of what I have missed. Hope you are all ok in the snow today. My car slid across the road on the way to school today and neary hit another car , luckily it didn't but it was scary nonetheless. Walking to pick DS1 up this afternoon with some other mums, going to be freezing, it's a blinking long way. Will need copious amounts of hot chocolate when we get back to help thaw out
Haven't managed to look at blogs yet today but just about to (supposed to be ironing but that can wait). Need to make a cuppa first I think.
Well done on the win flourgirl and have you ordered your machine yet??? I order the odd thing from the US and do a currency conversion like Padster mentioned to check how much the item is before pressing the order button
Marg, your card was lovelyas are your new ones
Popkins, huge congratulations on being asked to make the wedding invites. It is a large number, do you have anyone who could share the work with you?
Glittermum, sorryfor sharing the Kaisercraft site but admit it, it's great isn't it
Love the look of the heart mobile!
Right, off to pop the kettle on (again) and check blogs xxx

We got 5 numbers on the lottery once and it amounted to £870, I was gutted, one number away from being a millionaire  That said, it was lovely to win £870 from £1:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Morning Ladies
How is everyone?
Well the day has finally arrived for OH to go for his CT scan, I only hope he doesn't fall on his way out from the house to the car and from the car to the hospital, it's like an ice rink on the roads here.
He's also worried that he won't be able to lie in the position they want him to, as he only had 2 hours sleep last night and is in absolute agony with his sciatica. He rang GP to ask if he could take anything to help him and she said just to take some Paracetemol on top of his Tramadol, so not much help really, and he really needs to find out what this CT scan will show.
Anyway, as if that's not bad enough, I went into my son's drawer this morning to put some underwear away and found a packet of cigarettes (half empty) and a lighter. He's not like normal boys where he does lots of boy things like active things and doesn't go out with friends at all, he's very much a loner and was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome a long time ago, but only mildly, it only really affects his socialisation skills and makes him come across as very shy and quiet. I can't tell you how shocked, angry I am, as he's always going on about how awful smoking is and to be honest I never dreamed he would ever start as he knows how I feel about smoking. I even asked him months ago if he was and he denied it. So I guess it's the lying that upsetting me too. I want to scream and shout at him, I want to not believe that he's started smoking and just don't know what to think anymore.
Just to keep on topic, I did manage to get some time to make this birthday card for a work colleague.0 -
Hugs to you Sally.
My son is 17 and was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome approx. 6 months ago. He is very intelligent but just comes over as quiet and shy. His socialisation skills are very, very poor and he experienced a LOT of mental health problems before we got to the bottom of what was going on.
Is it possible that your son has started smoking because he is desperate to be "one of the crowd" - I know my son went through agonies (and still does) at not "belonging" to his peer group and not "knowing" how to join in.
Would neutrally explaining the facts about chemical addiction help - my son is very typically "straight-line" in his thinking. Once he knew nicotine was one of the most chemically addictive substances around, he has left cigs alone.
Hugs to you,
Thriftyxxx
ETA: lovely card :-)0
