I've figured the way to get through the next couple weeks is to list everything, have a memory like a sieve, and with away Aug, DD and I haveing some time together.

    1. Ring IS - sort mess out - rang IS, one phonecall later, they reckon it has been sorted
    2. Locate last 12 months bank statements (incase their needed) - not needed
    3. DD has to do letter for solicitor (but friends mum doing it all with her) - done
    4. Speak to soilcitor re court date - done
    5. Write to cafcass - say were away and DD will be free these days *that way they can't say I haven't answered phone or replied to their letters, cc to solicitor keep him in the loop - done but going to hand deliever and get someone to sign to say that have recieved it.
    6. Money - 2 options - I have done online rememdy with CCCS, and they recommend a DMP, but because of court case, it would go against me, would be classed as unreliable with money, so need to try and get 6 month breathing space - Aug /jan next court case Sept - if we had another 3/4 mths thats Jan, so would tie in with money nicely.
Wed ngt 4/6 good going! Monday 6/6 Have now done a debt remedy on CCCS but am going to try fr self managed DMP.

    Here the debts -
H - loan - £184 pm - 54 payments left - got to do SOA - there willing to help

H - overdraft £1630 - at full limit - pay £31 charges per month - keep it running as top figure, but cover bank charges be ok - taking that as ok, don't want to bring unwanted attention yet

    H - c/c - £2700 - full - payments £54 per month - got to ring re an arrangement

V - £2700 - payment £120 pm - no go - got to ring them offer token payment £10 pm

    E - £1000 - repayment £30 - thats manageable (do not disturb for now)

A - £2700 - brilliant as there willing to accept £10 per month for 6 months (yipee)

    C1 - 600 - payment £35 - manage that one - don't want to rock the boat yet

    Ar- £400 - payments £15 - managae - don't want to rock the boat

Studio - £400 - £30 per month - in couple months reduce - just trying to hold

(just worked out those figures come in at £400, maximum £375, but may need to squeeze down, - do a proper SOA at weekend- then come with a new figure)

---worked out the money on IS back up + running, (apparently, thou won't be 100% happy till its appeared in bank account) this way, it def add a few years to debt free date, but it at least mean I won't be on the vicious circle, paying the cards, then having to use them again, to survive. -- so fingers crossed

The plan is get H loan, H + V cards to accept small payments and can then avoid cccs - my credit rateing is messed up to the hilt, so this ain't going to make any difference.

I've worked out that the maximum can spend on debts is £375 per month.... it will eventually mean that every creditor will have to take a cut, but hoping at it would 30% cut they may be more flexible in the long run,

    1. Sort out OU courses, I still intend to do 3, but OU changed the one course to a new one, which takes me over studying points allowed, so figured change courses, make sure go no exams for 12 months, then even if court drags on, it won't mess Open Uni up to much. - done new plan just need open uni to confirm and update - half way through 2 out 3 courses confirmed - done

    2. Got 2 days this week to gut bedroom. - done!! dreading putting it all back!!

    3. weather permitting, having big picnic friday. - done
    Another 3 jobs done!

Think that keep me busy this week xx

Just realised I have hit my 5k target, at least when get more arrangements done, know more of the money will be going debt busting,
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Hi Mum2One I am so sorry you are having such a pants time of it lately with the Courts, Cafcass and "him". It is so frustrating when you can see the adverse effect it is having on DD :( I cannot believe they have listed the hearing on her b'day  t*ssers  The Courts are being unbelievably bad at the moment, the spending cuts now mean that whereas we thought that were bad before, now they just take forever to do the dreadful job too.

Has DD had any clarinet lessons yet? I bought my OH a saxophone for his birthday, he hasn't bloomin touched the thing yet so it will shortly be getting listed on ebay if he doesn't pull his finger out. But the sound is lovely, I know there is the pleasure pain situation of when they are learning and it sounds like a strangled cat but after it is mastered I think listening to an instrument being played is lovely :)

Have you decided which courses you would like to do with the OU?
    Just keep swimming!

itsadogslife, thank you, rang the solicitor, spoke to his secetary, and shes going to get him to look into it.

1st clarnet lesson 2mor... so could be new eardrums, hoping not novelty... we were lucky got a 2nd hand one for £30, its from a girl who is taught by same teacher.
Shes starting flute when she goes back to school, but the school are doing music lessons and loaning her a flute, so if shes happy go with it.

Just got 1 more call to make and OU sorted, think mad,but... Oct, start level 2 business, Nov, level 1 marketing, then May start another business course, level 1, all no exams, hopefully will fly through them. Just waiting for my disability side to be sorted, there really great as if works online I need to print off, they refund paper, ink etc, so all helps.

Have finally finished gutting the bedroom, just half bin bag today!! dreading putting it all back, sure everything multiples in cupboards, but have got rid of bedside unit and chester draws, theyve gone to a new home, DD's friend, and then dads stripping the wardrobe 2mor!!
Hopefully get back to normal soon.... worked out earlier that its been 11 years since it was last painted!! xx

Not much going on, had a good couple of days, Fri we went for a picnic to the local park, me, DD, + dad, then we went with her best friend and their family, took all the food and very mse...

Thou the dad on the other side, as they were early they went and got some drinks, 2 hot choc, and 3 small slush puppies - £12.

Sat - we met some really good friends from Manchester, we went to an icecream farm, lovely, we did a classic thou, it was brilliant, DD wanted a piece of cake, and I thought I'd me a piece and our friend, but when we got to the counter, they hadn't got any cakes out, as they were in the oven, (£2 a slice), but the bloke said theres home made cakes on the side, there £3, so we brought one and opened it there, and still had half a cake to take home.

letter has now gone to solicitors, so its all out of my hands now till Sept, so I am going to have a relaxng August.

Open Uni - now sorted, got 3 courses, spread out over the year. xx

This may sound daft, but I found it actually worked just breaking it up into smaller to do chunks, so heres the next list.

    1. Bailey needs booster Jab - booked in friday (half done)

    2. Arrange Asthma clinic appointment - got cancellation for this week, brill as normally 2 month wait (half done)

    3. Ring hospital re seeing surgeon over knee - done - haven't gonr to local hospital, but its a better one, 60 mile round trip, booked in for Sept

    4. Hope IS goes in as normal on Fri

    5. Try and get hold of the companies re payments, (I've only hit one system so far Argos, but thats one be managing normally small payment - moment basic payment £24 pm so won't bother trying to get it to be dropped)

    6. Double check the CCCS income + expenditure sheet, be using that as base figure. done it!! feels weird as my debt repaymrnt were almost 75% of income, now the free money equals 1/3rd of what I have left!

    7. get new tyre and tracking done on car before hols - done - not nice bill £70 but dad paid, and said don't about rushing to pay him back!! (no comment!!) thats pleased

So silly tried to be proactive and ring re debts, but as the due date was 1st Aug, the systems won't have updated re payments, so have been advised to wait for next statements and then ring. But one company actually thanked me for being pro-active and ringing already.

The plan (hopefully), is do CCCS sheet fo income + expenditure, keep cccs on the back burner, as I want to try and manage my own dmp, if it fails then I'll have CCCS, but Halifax loan, and CC, have both said there work with me, and keep it in-house. if I end up using cccs then so be it, but I want to give it a try.

    xx

Just done my updates as go along, not bad for Tuesday and i'm getting organised, its worrying!! x

I feel very pround of myself, I have finally done a SOA gone through CCCS, presently have been paying 90% of my incomings on debts then been spending back on cards to survive the month, its now at the stage where everything is maxed out. So really something has to give.

My new budget, this is going to sound so daft, but if my SOA was put on someones else diary and I came across it, literally every point I would turn round and say that can be cut, thats too much, but I have used some of their recommedations, where I wasn't sure to estiamate how much, but figured there guidelines are there for a reason.

Looking at the estimated figure my debt repayment should be £694, but after accounting for every item, things I take for granted, it works out at £231 left per month, which is approximately 1/3rd of my repayments.

What i want to try to do is do a self managed dmp, if the companies don't accpet that, then I can go back to CCCS as all the hard work figures wise is ready, have monthly statements etc so I'm covered both ways.

So I'm going to start the ringing around this week, and explaining and then Aug payments will be at apr 1/3rd and the companies can lump it of like it. I know that sounds horrible, as I do have the option to turn round and say i'm on benefits, heres £1 per month, but I made the debts, so I need to do everything possible to clear them. Even if it takes 10 years, I'll do it.

Feel pround as well, as I put my foot down with the Irish grandparents, as they want to come across for DDs birthday, which I can understand, but they want me to get her out of school, as they want to spend some of the week here and visit other family at the weekend. I said no to pulling her out of school, as for her bday, she doesn't want to do anything, as its the court case, so i've said they can have a couple of evening after school, but school comes 1st. It will only be the 2nd time she would have seen them, and shes not very happy as they gave photos to her dad, (which she saw in this damm lifebook), so she feels betrayed by them. I feel piggy in the middle. Just wish this court case would be over.

I've just wasted 6 months on my sports course, I passed all the assisgnments, but have failed the end assisgnment, I only got 29 points, needed 40 to pass. I can resubmit, but that will cost me £300, £300 I don't have and too be honest if I never picked up a sports book again be a day to early, in all honestly its not a surprise I failed as it was the time of all the court saga back in june time.

I start Open Uni again end Oct, so all the luck in the world is needed.

sorry to hear about the sports course and watch those grandparents especially as they've given him the photos...that's out of order as I'm sure they said they weren't seeing their son so why did they give him photos.

Apparently they gave him a few photos when we'd originally been in touch, they were trying to run a marathon and not baby steps, so they ended being told by the solicitor to leave alone until we were ready. She says that she gave him the photos in a temper, to show him what he had lost her... thats what shes saying, but this is the weird bit, we did 5 photo albums up at the time, covering from birth to 5 yrs, but she gave him christening photo, and one of her at xmas with her stocking as a toddler, he used one from hols, but when we first met, she'd only had his side of things, so rather than it be my version, then his, I sent them copies of the solicitors letters (blocked the addresses out) that had gone from me to him, and him to me, so they could see what happened and in that we had refused him photos. The first time we met them, within a week the ex was appearing at places where DD and I went, - simple things like we got to the kids films on Sat, only quid, then once a month we went for a pub meal, at pub by cinema, then for about 4 weeks running he was hanging around, and then started using the pub as his new local, even thou it was an 9 mile round trip! a friend of mine recognised him. we can't prove it but think it was the brother who told him, as when we met last time, he said for sorry for everything I've done, and I thought yes... I know what you've done.
I literally give them an inch, I feel awful, but I have to put DD first, shes more important. She was so funny tonight, she said I suppose the irish lot are be across for my birthday, (thought help), said yes there coming around the time, but you won't be spending your bday with them your at school unless you want to after school. Met by a firm no, I'll meet them and see what they've got me, but don't expect me to stick around, i liked them till they gave him my photos...
They said they didn't have anything to do with him, but last time went and met his new gf and their other grandchild, thou they say that madam is more important, and that he only rings when he wants something, but really i have only their word, and in all honeslty the respect that I had for them has now literally zilch, I'll keep the link open for DD as they are her grandparents, but then as DD says shes had mum and dad since day 1 and her other grandparents (really great uncle + great aunty), but became adopted grandparents.

Very organised today, have got my statement of affairs all worked out, printed and laminated a copy, make it easier to give info from, at a rough look the what I should be paying and what I can pay is 1/3rd of the amount, so I've basically cut everyone payment by to a 1/3rd, hopefully there agree, if not i'll let CCCS take care of it. I may of over estimated certain parts £130 for petrol and parking, but then again as I less mobile the car needs to go everywhere, and servcing CCCS recommend £11 per month - its just cost £170 for the MOT and work, just spent £70 on tyre and all tracking, needs some work before MOT, so what saves on Petrol will go to the car repairs. Just got to hope they all agree.

Mums been really sweet, she doesn't know the extent of the debts, it would just devastate her, shes knows i've got some debt, think she thinks its under 1k I wish, so we sat down this afternoon and worked out money to xmas, and with Prague coming up, she said she'd lend me £200, and I've worked out repayment plan with her, so she gets it back before xmas, helped out a lot, and we said next yrs holidays, we'd sit down and decide what to do, and cut back. DD wants to go to lapland, looked at a day and thats £900, also looked at a 4 ngt package on all inclusive basis, and that be £1600 for the 2 of us, (based on this yrs prices), but I won't do anything till I know we can def afford it... even I say to mum I'll have £100 from xmas fund on hol, whereas previously would have just rung and booked it and worried about the balance somewhere with credit cards, which is not an option, which feels like a weight off my shoulder.

Had a call from the OU did I want to resit the sports course, resubmit a new assisgnment, but that would be about £200, so said no thank you, if I saw another sports book would scream. Want to have this break till Oct, and start with a vengenance. xx
