  • My OH and i recently flew to spain and only booked one hold bag between the two of us, giving us 32kg allowance. We weren't charged any extra for being over the normal 20kg so the 32kg in one case between 2 people is correct.

Hope this helps, have a good trip! :D

I think you had a lucky escape as it is clear in Easyjet's conditions that the allowance is 20kg, with an excess to be paid above this.

'Every item of standard checked ('hold') baggage will incur a fee. The applicable online fee will be displayed at the time of booking baggage (whether during or after booking your flight). Alternatively, you may choose to pay a higher charge at the airport. You will be advised of this charge at the airport. Payment of the fee provides you with an aggregate allowance of 20kg across all pieces of hold baggage which may only be increased by payment of excess weight charges.'

Also, as a long time easyjetter, I have noticed that if you check seat prices for the same sector/time frequently, then the price points seem to creep upwards. It is not a function of getting closer to departure dates because these flights are months ahead. It almost seems it remembers where you have been looking and the more you look then the higher goes the seat price. Am I paranoid or has anyone else seen this ??

    Cheers one and all[/QUOTE]

I've been checking on flights to Berlin, and the price has just gone up by £10 within the space of a few minutes, so you're theory could be right!
I'll wait now until they have their next sale...
Does anyone know when Easyjet will have a sale on their winter flights, there must be one due soon......

<quote>I just made a round trip from GVA to EMA using the delete outward sector on the return plus a separate EMA to GVA ... all this so I could pay in pounds sterling. I got a reasonable set of flights which came to £123 for two of us. But after I had input all passeneger and payment details and clicked the final "OK", I got a message saying that seats at the price offered were now not available, but other were at a cost of an additional £22. Of course the seats involved were frome the GVA to EMA leg where I had cancelled the outward sector to get billing in sterling.

I had little choice to accept. But afterwards I went through the process again and lo and behold there were still seats showing at the original lower price.

So my suspicious mind is thinking that the booking programme on the website has a penalty for those folks who try "unusual" techniques when booking seats. Does anyone else have a similar observation ???</quote>

My husband booked flights today starting outside the UK. He tried to do the same thing and got the same message so was forced to pay the extra - luckily it was only £5. The whole thing makes no sense - why does easyjet charge more depending on whether you're starting in the UK or not?
  • Be aware that the £40 "freebie" for taking out an Easyjet credit card (operated by Citibank) is actually worth less because you have to use the money to buy an Easyjet flight (not any other airline) and you will therefore unavoidably pay the credit card fee!

Also you must use it within 12 months of its first appearingt on your statement, otherwise you lose it.

If you have friends in the countries you travel to, you may be able to become an authorised signatory on a new bank account which they open and to which a Visa Electron card can be "attached." You can then pay in non-sterling (for flights or anything else in country) without the exchange rate costs. (You can always find someone who wants to change small amounts of travel money direct with you without going tthrough the banks etc.)

    Good luck!
  • Unfortunately Citibank have announced that they will not support the EasyJet credit card. They are transferring Customers to their own Citibank credit Card. I have told them to stuff it. Their CS was poor anyway.

Read an artical which suggests that the booking screens use Cookies to track repeat visits and then stop you seeing previoius fares. Cant remember where but will research and provide additional info. If there is more than 1 pc in house try different searches??

I've heard this too. Each time you visit the site, a cookie is placed on your computer. Try clearing / resetting your cookies and cache between each visit to their website and you should always then see the lower price.

You are not being paranoid! I have been checking ticket price Bristol Krakow and return January/February. 2 days ago price was £60. Checked again last night on laptop that I used to get previous prices and hey presto price had jumped to £100! So I checked on pc 5 minutes later and price £74!! Booked it straight away! Looking via skyscanner- obviously Easyjet get info about enquiries from this website! I thought skyscanner was neutral - not so! Beware!!

Thanks for all the great and useful info... Please can anyone confirm whether we are allowed a handbag aswell as hand luggage, or do we have to stuff one inside the other?

    Cheers
