Apologies, edited to say 'some of them'.

Anyone know if Easyjet enforce their 'one hand luggage' item policy?

No apology needed, I was pretty sure that's what you meant ;) but as a Newbie myself was just a little sensitive.

My gf seems to think they don't charge you for pushchairs. Can anyone confirm that.

Also you can check in your bags after 20:00 the night before if you are flying out before 08:30 the next morning. Useful if you are staying in hotel or live near airport.

Please be very careful with MoneySaving Newbie comments that have a low post count, some of them aren't actually double checking what they say with the relevant websites.

Ouch! I accept I've not posted here often but I have booked with Easyjet five times this year alone (twice while abroad) and the tip has always worked for me. Sorry if it didn't work for you. If it turns out that I have made a mistake then I apologise but I don't see how that is connected to me being a 'newbie'.

I've just checked out Martin's tip on Easyjet.

RichardW - this is a semi-apology. While I still hold that my tip works, Martin's appears to work better. I'm really shocked at the price difference.

PS. Still hold that it had nothing to do with me being a newbie though. ;-)
  • Thanks for the great tips on getting a good deal when booking easyjet.

I just made a round trip from GVA to EMA using the delete outward sector on the return plus a separate EMA to GVA ... all this so I could pay in pounds sterling. I got a reasonable set of flights which came to £123 for two of us. But after I had input all passeneger and payment details and clicked the final "OK", I got a message saying that seats at the price offered were now not available, but other were at a cost of an additional £22. Of course the seats involved were frome the GVA to EMA leg where I had cancelled the outward sector to get billing in sterling.

I had little choice to accept. But afterwards I went through the process again and lo and behold there were still seats showing at the original lower price.

So my suspicious mind is thinking that the booking programme on the website has a penalty for those folks who try "unusual" techniques when booking seats. Does anyone else have a similar observation ???

Also, as a long time easyjetter, I have noticed that if you check seat prices for the same sector/time frequently, then the price points seem to creep upwards. It is not a function of getting closer to departure dates because these flights are months ahead. It almost seems it remembers where you have been looking and the more you look then the higher goes the seat price. Am I paranoid or has anyone else seen this ??

    Cheers one and all
  • [If two of you are travelling with easyjet and you only opt for one hold case you get 32 kilos allowance!
Also be warned. I tried to use my First Direct Maestro card to pay and because it has 18 digits it was not accepted. Easyjet tell me it is because its an international maestro card and not a UK one.

Is this for definite as I would not want to get to the airport and have to pay the over weight luggage charges.

I have only booked one hold case between the 2 of us, decided to try and streamline as I always take things we never use. LOL.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm pretty sure you don't get 32kg allowance. 32kg is the maximum they will allow you to put in one case, you'd still have to pay excess baggage charges if you're over 20kg though.
