I applied for a £5000 loan using easyfinance4all I filled in there form and with in 5 mins i had a text saying "Hi Daniel, your loan application for £5,000 is ready for finalising. Please call City Financial on 01614065910, Monday to Friday 9am-8pm or Sat 9am-12noon, quoting your ref:*** to process the money today. I thought great I rang the number ans was put through to a polite girl called "Amy" and she went through some details everything was going well saying they was only going to add 15% interest and my monthly payments would be £118 a month. Then she said I had to pay £69 for the cost of them doing the paper work not having much money (hence the loan) I asked if they could just take it out of the loan she said no they have to pay the full amount of the loan to me so I said I would have to wait until pay day to pay the fee she said that that was ok and she wood E-Mail me conformation of the loan and once I had the money and payed them they would send the loan contract out to me and when they had received the the contract back I would have the £5000 with in 2-5 working days.
Thinking this was too good to be true I typed there number into Google and it seems they have been SCAMMING people out of money for 3-4 years I was one of the lucky ones but it seams there are a lot of people who don't check befor handing money over online I have in formed my bank to be on the safe side but please people do not pay to get a loan that is not how it is done and you will only make your financial situation worse.0 -

Its common sense to not hand your bank details over willy nilly even on the promise of a loan.
So where you going to go for the £5k ?
The part in bold is what Ive been saying for a while, why pay someone to find a loan for you, your just chucking money down the pan.0 -

Seems they are caught my OH out yesterday  writing this letter to them and will be sending it off today:
[name]
[date]
Dear Sir/Madam
On the [date] I made an application [ref num] to your company for a loan of [amount]. I have a copy of the agreement which was signed and sent back to you. The [amount] administration fee was paid.
I would like to ask that you refund my administration fee minus £5 which by law you are entitled to keep.
I would at this time remind you that Section 155 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 provides that a credit-broker may charge no more than £5 for his services if the consumer does not enter into a relevant agreement within six months of an introduction to a prospective source of credit or hire. If the broker has already charged more than £5 for his services and section 155 applies, the excess must be refunded to the consumer upon request.
As I have never entered into any relevant agreement the above applies and you are lawfully bound to refund the original administration fee, minus £5.
Should you fail to do so, I will have no option but to report your company to the Office of Fair Trading to whom you are licensed by.
You have 21 days from today in which to refund the requested monies. Please make any cheques payable to [name].
Yours Sincerely0 -
If he only did it yesterday you should be requesting a full refund as it is within 14 days.
Next step is the Financial Ombusman Service
