Zara, I'm not surprised you're exhausted - you've done really well for your first couple of days!

Thanks so much soappie, I must have missed this! The way I see it, the more I can just get out of the way the easier it's going to be. I can't bear to touch OH's office just yet, but I'll get there next week! (I just pray there's no spare room/study clearing on the list next week!!) Ooh, and glad the wedding went well, did she have lovely weather?

dinx... defrosting the freezer is a thankless task especially on such a gorgeous day! All the best with that!

Ginger, I'm so sorry for your loss. I never know what to say to those that are greiving, I hope you can all find the strength to support each other through the next few months. It sounds like you've been amazing already for her. For now it's just a case of being whatever's needed to help your friend, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a taxi to get here there and everywhere, a nanny to look after the baby, a cook to make sure she's eating well, a doctor to make sure she's looking after herself, a comedian to make her smile... her grief will stay with her for years to come. But with good friends you'll make it much easier for her. And, like has been said, you'll build each other up too.

Valli... any ideas on why there's so many butterflies about?? I think they're gorgeous but I hate them (in all fairness to butterflies, I also hate anything small with wings!) Hope you're feeling better too!

So a final update just for my peace of mind really:

Magnificent Monday ~ Living room, hall and stairs!

DONE!!!! Finally! Was too late yday to do hoovering, so I finished this morning, Hope the neighbour downstairs didn't mind the noise at 9am!

DONE!!!! Is it cheating if DH helped me with the bathroom?

Thrilling Thursday ~ Childrens Rooms and Land of Spare Oom

Flinging Friday ~ The Queens Boudoir and the landing!

    Extras

I'm actually really pleased with this week. The house is very tidy! A few bits and pieces to put away still, but the majority has been done!

    Aftennoon all

Ginger I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I know you will be a wonderful support to his wife. Please do remember that your family have suffered a loss too; it is so easy to deny your own grief because you feel the loss for his wife is greater.

    - look forward to meeting you some other time.

Been concentrating on daily life and getting some bits ready for holiday. Off to Wickwsteed park tomorrow for a family day out (free thanks to clubcard) for DH birthday so need to get the cake made this evening and also cook some chicken to take with us in sandwiches.

Soappie, I did claim all my stars the other day but you must have missed it (I know you've had a busy week with getting better and the wedding, don't mean to nag).

hung out the washing to dry nicely in the sun
planned the menu for the week and made a shopping list

Hmmm... still quite a bit to do before I get my stars. Although if I make an effort, the bathroom and kitchen should be easily achievable! Looks like I'll have to polish the mirror and do the downstairs hoovering, then have another break.

Clean bedlinen is drying on the line. I probably have rather a lot of laundry to iron/put away now...
