So sorry to hear of your loss Gingergirl...as AnWsMum says being there and showing support helps...maybe keep and eye on your friend and take her some meals round if you can especially as she has a little one to look after...I would think it will get harder for her as time goes on and other people start getting back to 'normal' and she hasn't got a normal to get back to so that'll be the time to make sure she has support IYSWIM (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anyone).
Absolutely spot on. Her normal will never be the same again and yes people think after a few weeks you will be feeling ok and used to it. Well it don't happen like that! From my side I would say let her talk when she wants to even if she wants to say the same thing time and again, it all helps her to attempt to make some sense out of it all. The key times are after the funeral and the weeks following when others go back to their lives. With such a small baby she has no choice but to go on getting up each morning which is her reason to keep going but she is going to need good friends around her to help on the practical side of things. I hate asking for help even now but really do appreciate any help I do get. Whilst I may not be able to give any help in return to those helping me I do believe that in time I can help others, a big cicle of helpmuch like the support on here. We all support each other and in return get the support we need.

I didn't do any foraging (other than an apple:D) - the pond where the watercress was looked fine enough to take it from but I didn't fancy getting my feet wet! Sloes/elders aren't ready yet and anyway I can get them MUCH closer to home...
The sandwiches I took had lettuce in from my garden which I HAD washed but there I was holding a sandwich and saw two caterpillars on the lettuce which was hanging out of my cob (bap/barm cake/bread roll) so I picked 'em off and flung 'em into the field and munched my cobs!
It was ONLY AFTER I GOT HOME THAT IT OCCURRED TO ME THAT THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN ALONE :eek::eek::eek::eek:
thanks for the advice Greenbee - I used to wake up face down when pregnant - and some old wife told me that I'd be depriving my baby of oxygen! At 9lb+ I think not - the same huge thing that's 5' 11" now (and desperate to grow another inch lol)
Obviously your OS instincts kick in naturally now... you see the whole world as an opportunity for creativity!
I suggest you wash your lettuce in salt in future, unless you feel you need the protein!
If you don't normally sleep on your front, I'm not surprised you've got backache - I find I do it intermittently and its not particularly comfortable. Having a pillow in front of you when you're on your side will either stop you turning onto your front, or support you. If you were having trouble getting to sleep, the reduced oxygen intake may have been the reason you turned over - have you noticed how cats and dogs cover their noses when they're going to sleep? They lower their oxygen levels which means they can go to sleep when they want to... someone did explain this properly to me once!
Feeling a bit better, but pretty dopey still. Bed is stripped, so I need to put the bedding on a hot wash (I use coconut oil on my legs and rosehip oil on my face, so its needs a very good wash every so often!) and I have to get the dry washing in. I should probably get dressed and eat too, but don't feel up to a shower or bath. I'm hopeless at being ill... at least if my migraines start in the middle of the night they're over by this time of day!0 -

Tia congratulations, what is your baby called? And what weight etc?
valli, I have been told never to sleep on my front but since I got my new mattress I seem to do it a lot more. Then my back is hellish in the morning.

well after my lovely lounge on Monday/Tuesday I bombed spectacularly (sp?) this week and apart from 6 hours ironing (yep 6 hours) managed nothing else. Although the lounge still looks OK.
To make amends I am currently in the process of defrosting the freezer, like you do on an absolutely glorious Sunday afternoon:rolleyes:.
Will try harder next week, promise;).:j DEBT FREE FROM 01/01/11 :j
