Hi
Thank you for all the kind thoughts and messages. Really does mean lots. Have been round to my friend again for a few hours this morning, so her mum could do some bits and pieces and she wasn't alone. Back now and catching up on washing before work starts again tomorrow. Will pop in but not sure how long I'll manage to stay. Plan for rest of day is to cook dinner and then DH is off to pick up one of my friend's mates from airport (flying in from Bahrain). Whilst he's off I'll stick gingerkids in bed and then try and fly quickly.
Hugs to all in need and hope to see you later. x0 -

Went to the rescue centre fair - didn't buy anything apart from some food, a raffle ticket to win a cake, and made a few donations of loose change to the cause along with the entry fee. The cats there were very sweet - loads of mums with very young kittens, but the trouble is, they keep the kennels so dark, that you couldn't see any of them very well. The good news is that their new building is getting there slowly - they have built all of the internal walls and the pens are all marked out. They still need lots more money to be raised before they can finish it though.
After the fair, we went and looked in a couple of bed shops and tried lots of different beds. In one shop they had this special bed that you lie on and it's linked to a computer, and it tells you what level of firmness you need based on your measurements. The beds that it was linked to cost upwards of £699 though and the top of the range one was nearly £2000! They were bespoke matresses though as they took measurements for both you and your partner and you could get a matress that had 1/2 the bed made to your measurements, and the other half to your partner's. After all of the trying different matresses though, I think we've decided to go for the Ikea matress that we saw on Friday, as it's extremely good value for what you get, and very comfy.
Have just stripped the bed and left it to air with the window open, and the sheets are in the wash. OH tightened the strings on the washing line yesterday, so hopefully they won't be so slack. OH has fallen asleep on the sofa - he's caught my cold too, so he's feeling it now - mind you, he was up at a rediculously early time this morning, so I'm not surprised that he's tired.
Better go and see how long the sheets are going to take, and grab the hoover and a duster whilst I'm down there so that I can finish off the bedroom. Hopefully I'll come back with more completed lists.
Take care everyone,

Mmm ok so the cutlery drawer thing was not quite so random. When DH died after the first thought was OMG what, how etc. The 2nd was OMG what are we going to do for money (DH was the main bread winner), he would know that would be a huge worry for me and the very next Sunday church lottery was drawn and DH's number won! (the first time any of our numbers had won) I knew that meant he was going to make sure we were ok financially. I decided then that the day we had to spend those winnings (£50) was the day we needed to panic about money, I kept it in the cutlery drawer in a money bag since then.
Today I wanted to make sure it was there as I had not seen it for a little while. When I couldn't find it I junked out the drawer hence the dot2dot! The winnings had dropped down the back of the drawer to the base of the unit, so I suspect this was DH's way of getting me to tidy it up :rotfl: phew I am am happy to have found it again though.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

At my brother's funeral, there was a pink balloon (presumably from a previous funeral) that kept peeking out from behind the curtain and bouncing for a few seconds before disappearing again! I like to think it was him having a laugh"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

sexymouse watch out for IKEA mattresses, they are all odd sizes, and you will be destined to forever buy your bedlinen in ikea, unless they've changed things recently...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

The red stars are to help me keep track - they make the accounting easy. The big green grins mean that all five stars have been achieved
