hi Penguin. Glad to see you are doing okay. How did hubby get on with doc? I too am in the public sector but am not overly worried about my job. If I did get paid off then I would get more that enough to pay off debt and mortgage and would settle for a part time job somewhere quite happily. So there are positives there lol. In other words I will worry about it if it happens. I'm glad the pressure of the debt is off of you a bit for the moment. Take care xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
Hi Penguin
Just read your diary from the start, most impressive!
Is the savings thing working better for you? I too have no savings and worry about that alot, DH is self employed (like yours) so we are vulnerable should something happen to equipment, van etc. However just now still struggling with min payments, as I have decided to clear business debt first. When that is gone, time to re-snowball and throw as much as possible at personal debt (currently min's are £1000)
Anyway - sorry, this is YOUR diary and very interesting it is too. I have subscribed and look forward to celebrating your continued success.LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
(CC/LOAN = [STRIKE]36,378.98[/STRIKE] 35668.47. O/D = [STRIKE]1255.32[/STRIKE] 1212.35/[STRIKE]1999.78[/STRIKE] 1934.52, BUS = [STRIKE]9769.76[/STRIKE] 8714.98)
Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84
There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

I'm still here safe and well, have been avoiding updating because I've not been doing much money wise!. I have updated my snowball though and we are now sub 18k and have paid off over 29k of debt in 3 years. Shocking to think what we could have done with that sort of money!
I need targets to work to though otherwise I drift a bit so :-
1- Complete budget for rest of our month (finishes Tues)
2- Transfer whats left into savings account
3- Work out a savings target for end of July
Have been plodding along with OU. Had 2 assignments due in on the same day last week which was horrific but got them in. I got 95% on my first assignment for company law. Complete shock I have never got results like that before.
Kids are both well, have had their reports through and DS has made great progress and is remaining in the class he is in now for next year. They are grouped on ability rather than age and all classes have letters rather than years so they dont feel like they are 'behind'. DD's report was great too. She goes to the Junior School in Sept which is on a different site and has a different uniform so she is very excited.
I promise I will update every other day even if its boring crap - throw things at me if I dont.
Taxi - thanks for the well wishes for brother, he has been told he has the cast for another 6 weeks - wedding in 7 weeks so its going to be close
BOB - how are you? I am going for a catch up on diaries so will be over soon
MIT - nice to see you, how have you been getting on? I am not going to worry neither whatever will be will be. Docs went ok, OH hasnt got coeliac or anything like that but has got abnormal liver function results so he has to go for a liver scan. He hasnt made the appointment yet so will need to nag him on that.
RMC - welcome, thanks for reading, hope you are not too bored after that :rotfl:I need people to shout at me if I disappear for a few days. I'm usually busy reading other peoples - much more fun
Off to do housework now. I may even update twice today :eek:

Glad to see you posting...
Great results on assignment..that's fantastic.
Good news that both kiddies had good reports.
Yes please nag DH to go for the scan...it's totally painless and only takes a few minutes...better to kinow what you're dealing with.
Well done on the new figures.
Please yes keep on posting.0 -

Thanks Girlies, 2 assignments that I did the other week arent back yet, cant decide if that is a good or a bad thing :rotfl:
Well do much for the daily update, definitely in need of shouting at for that. All I can say at the minute is urrrgggghhh! My insomnia is back and I dont know why, its usually when I am stressed or worried but I dont feel any more stressed than normal, I think I have just got into the bad habit of sitting up till all hours. I will be in bed before 1am tonight. Promise!
News - both Nans have had ops last week, Nan H on her wrists (carpal tunnel) and Nan J had her 2nd hip op. Nan H had to go back to hosp tonight because one wrist is infected, Dad has been looking after her and OH took her to the hosp tonight. Nan J is still in hosp and I am going up to see her after work tomorrow. All went well though.
Brother and his wife to be came round tonight, first time I have seen him since his accident. Actually just realised how awful that is it was weeks ago. I speak to him on a regular basis but dont see him that often - must change that!
OH at work, still hasnt been for his scan so will have to nag him to do that soon. Kids fine, they break up this week and then the fun begins of sorting out who is looking after them over the holidays.
Not much more to report I think, still havent worked out budget really got to get some motivation together, just cant be bothered with anything at the moment, so unlike me - I need a holiday :rotfl:
Anyways thats all from me tonight, going to muster the energy to get everything ready for tomorrow. Hope everyone is well x x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Well you just need a bit of down time- the budget and the kids will sort itself out soon enough. Let your brain have a rest from all the work and worry lately.
Besides - i hear the kids are very good at amusing themselves...congaaaaaaaaaa:rotfl::rotfl:
