Penguins 24 month countdown!

Hi Taxi, Luc and everyone else.

Another week passes and car still not fixed **sobs**. We are stuck in a catch 22 at the minute. Garage own the car, have provided us with a courtesy (but not a taxi) and not charging us while it is off the road, nobody else has any settle cars available and we wouldnt get credit in a million years for OH to buy one (although we could afford it). So just have to wait out until it is ready, although I suspect they are getting him another one and scrapping the other one.

Luckily apart from the insurance, all his other work related costs stop and my wages will cover the bills so we are ok but not making any inroads to the debts apart from the minimum payments which is frustrating to say the least!

As an aside, this is the dress I want for my brothers wedding in August (although wont be buying it yet until OH is back in work). Will be getting some sort of shrug (dont like the tops of my arms!) and some killer shoes to go with it. Cant wait! xxxx

I have read the last few pages of your diary. Where did you get your name Penguin83 from?

My son loves penguins we had an inside front porch door with two full length glass penguins facing each other in stained glass, we were know as the penguin house.

My DH was also on on strike and is on strike on Wed 24th March.

Well done on all payments so far you must be so pleased. What about your weight lost well done you.

The username - when I was pregnant with my daughter, my OH used to call me a penguin because of the waddling and it was all I could think of when I joined, the 83 is my birth year xxx

Sorry to hear DHS car is still off the road but good that you can manage to pay the bills from your wages.Hope it is fixed/replaced soon.

Thanks Taxi, hopefully car will be back next week, OH is climbing the walls with boredom, he has never had this much time off work, I worry for his sanity! :rotfl:

Have had a lovely day today. It was my Nans 80th birthday so I took her for lunch with my brother at the local garden centre and she had a potter about looking at the plants which she loves, then DS school easter fair tonight which she came to because she hasnt seen DS's school yet and then back home for bday cake. It was basically a nice family day which we dont get too often sadly.

DD off out with my mum, brother and grandad tomorrow for her first Everton game, there will be 4 generations of Evertonians at the match tomorrow!

I am off out to my bosses wedding in the evening which money wise couldnt have come at a worse time, luckily OH is off work anyway, we have clothes we can wear and we are sticking to soft drinks so wont spend much as OH can drive then.

Evening all. Sent off my 5000 word final assignment today so have finally finished W221 (employment law). Still waiting for a result for an assignment back for my other course which has been over 3 weeks now!

Have been lurking for a bit because I have been busy so just reading but can now spend a few days catching up with everyone!

Things a bit grim here at the moment. OH still off the road, the owners seem in no rush to get it fixed and the promise of a new one hasnt materialised so we have lost about 2k in earnings so far. Luckily I can just about cover bills on my own but obviously not forever. So we are back to looking at our options. We may have to take out credit for a car of our own which I really wanted to avoid but sometimes needs must or we can just wait for the new car to materialise.

Kids well and enjoying their easter break and I am off now until Tuesday so can catch up on some sleep now that my assignment is done. Off to Aintree on Thurs and Fri for the races. Luckily it is not costing anything because it is my Dads treat!

Family up from London on Friday with a new addition to the family who is only 6 weeks old so cant wait to meet her.

aww penguin sounds like a big squidgy hug is needed. Can totally understand oh's frustration and same at paying mins...no work for 7 months and like your boiler extra things like cat, car etc to pay out...gets a bit depressing doesent it! Hang in there....dress is scrummy! No way I could ever wear it without plastic surgery first!
