Well done on the wins
I am never lucky on anything *lottery * like, so stick to raffles- which i tend to be very lucky on for some reason.

Morning all.
Ever get the feeling its one step forward and about 10 steps back!
Boiler has given up the ghost, got British Gas out yesterday to fix it and guess what it is 'beyond economical repair' and apparantly the ventilation and siting of it is inadequate. Great!
So next week we have someone coming out to quote for a boiler replacement, power flush and god knows what else. The boiler is going to have to be sited somewhere else as well when we do get one.
Luckily, Mum and Dad have offered to lend us the money so we dont have to stress about where it is going to come from but its more debt that I sooo didnt want.
arrrgghh! xxxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

That's pants about the boiler Penguin
. I'm waiting for (hopefully top totty
) BG engineer today as my CH went on the blink yesterday (too much overuse during the cold snap I think and a valve has stuck
)
British Gas were doing some special deal to replace boilers recently (hopefully it hasn't run out) £300 towards it plus free homecare cover? I remember noticing cos my boiler is approaching 15 years old and has recently started scaring me to death with the noise it now makes every time it lights
The standards for ventilation and siting have got much stricter....I get a big red cross on my annual service inspection now - but when it was installed it DID conform to the (then) standards and I only started getting red crosses about 5 years ago
Good news about mum and dad - but know what you mean about it being extra to pay back.
Onwards and upwards Hun - and at least you'll be warm

Thanks girls. I know I am lucky really, not everyone has parents they can fall back on, its just sooo annoying! Best laid plans and all that
Wol - 4th March we get the piggles, kids still dont know but they are top of DD's birthday list. So excited!
Luc - our gas bill is currently £128.00pm  and its prob because the heating has to be on full to get any sort of heat out of it, so it will pay for itself in time
Will have a look at the British Gas site and see whats available - they are coming to give us a quote next week. Don't know if it's best to go with them or find a local (reputable!) company? Any thoughts?
Got our £100.00 deposit back from nursery today (that we have been chasing since Sept). We didnt think we would get it because we didnt give them 4 weeks notice as DS's school place didnt get confirmed until the day before he started. We worked out though that we had spent in excess of £50k :eek: on nursery fees since 2004. In the early days we used to get some help with that from Tax credits but only for about 12 months. Would have seen my bum if they had quibbled over £100!
Hope everyone is well xxxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

You can have a laugh at BG price when they give you a quote.

Evening all
Hi mineallmine, thank you for reading and thank you for your comments, hope it hasnt bored you too much though!
Hope everyone is well, havent been on much because both OU courses now in full swing and time isnt stretching as far as I would like lately! Had my first tutorial for the new course on Saturday and everyone seems nice including the tutor. Have an assignment due in on Weds so will be cracking on with that for the next couple of days.
Everything else pretty static at the moment. No overpayments made yet due to DD, DS and Nans 80th birthdays coming up in March and OH car off the road until at least tomorrow. **crosses everything that they fix it soon**
Off for a catch up and a proper update when this bl**dy assignment is done x x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
