Ooh I knew I had something to rant about!

    **rant on***

As you may know DS is in a special needs school, he is a class of 7 with 2 teachers and 2 teaching assistants. He is the youngest in his class (4) and the other children are also autistic. Quite often his home/school book has comments along the lines of another child hitting/scratching him (they are a lot bigger than him) and we understand that there is likely to be some upsets because of the nature of the childrens condition.

Anyways, yesterday he comes home with a note in his book to say that he had kicked another child who was under the table he was sitting at and caught him close to his eye. DS had been told off and taken to the headteachers room for a telling off too. I have absolutely no problem with him being disciplined as kicking is obviously unacceptable but it is so unlike him - he is a hitter/thrower of things but doesnt normally kick. When I was getting him changed I noticed he had huge purple/red bruises on his arms really angry looking. Asked him about it but he didnt say anything to me apart from 'childs name' and 'pinch'.

Didnt mention anything in his book this morning although I meant too but he came home tonight with another note in his book apologising for taking him to the head for a telling off because they had found out that DS kicked the boy because the boy had crawled under the table to pinch DS's arms. They had now told the original boy off and reminded DS to tell them when someone is hurting him (he doesnt really feel pain and has limited vocabulary)

I know its no ones fault but just annoyed that poor little man was taken to the Head when it wasnt really his fault. It would have been scary for any child but for one that musnt have had a clue what was going on it cant have been much fun for him.

    **rant off**

Looks like you can plan your time now.
Poor DS..it must be hard for the teachers as well getting the stories out of the children.Perhaps when things like this happen they should look for signs of injuries on all children first and then try to get to the bottom of it well before resorting to shouting at the child ...though communication is hard in the circumstances ...
  • Aww what a wee shame. My nephew has not long been diagnosed as autistic and I am beginning to get some grasp on what it is all about. It's so difficult for them to communicate and you mummy's have to be so vigilant to pick things up. Us mums have a 6th sense sometimes though.

Thanks everyone, my 'routine' of sorts is sorting itself out. I think the tiredness is playing a big part, everything seems much more overwhelming when you are knackered. Getting to bed before 1am is my plan for this week along with doing the washing up before bed, just little things for now but hoping to get them slowly built into the routine and before I know it I will be super organised (maybe thats pushing it!)

House I seem to have agreed a family party on April 9th so that gives me a target for getting the house sorted. All the family from London are coming up for the Grand National and the plan is to all come back to mine for takeaway and drinks. Maybe getting everyone drunk so they wont care about the house is the way forward. :rotfl:

Money - Our month ends today so have transferred the 'leftovers' into the RMA savings so now have a total of £432.45 in there and bank accounts ready to start again tomorrow. Last payment to BarclayLoan going out on the 1st Feb and I cant wait :T

Weight - Lost 3lbs this week but going to Manchester for a course on Weds so will miss my morning weigh in and will have to go in the evening so almost guaranteed a small gain - booo!

Everything else mooching along, kids, OH and work fine. Passed latest assignment, one more and then the end assignment to do for this course and then the next one starts on the 6th Feb

Hope alls well, time for a quick catch up xxx

I'm sure you'll get in a routine with the house..this is something I'm trying to do as well.
EG..I put a wash load in either before bed or before work depending how much there is to do.

Morning all. Hope everyone is well, have been MIA a bit this week because I had a stomach bug on my day off - typical! Pretty much back to normal now though and thank god the kids dont seem to have picked it up.

Good news though is that I have finally paid off my BarclayLoan, the last payment of 311.50 has left my account - I cant tell you how glad I am to have rid of that! :T:j:beer::j:T

    My debt - 5636.80
    OH debt - 15264.82

    Total - 20901.62
