apparantly not - the great rbs/natwest *lack of communication to its customers on the change to visa debit continues despite some customers on the brink of receiving one.

RBS Group are in process, A&L/Abbey which are under the Santander branding already are, HBOS and Lloyds are VISA Debit or will be, Barclays already issue VISA Debit, HSBC have replaced all their cards. Plus I work for one of those banks and know very good friends in most of the UK banks.I believe the only one who will remain with Maestro is Clydesdale / Yorkshire Bank. However they may also change their provider of cards.
The red bold text above, you miss the point half the people posting in here including Kavanne actually work for banks, Natwest, Abbey the likes so knowing people means little in the grand scheme of things cos we're more likely to listen to Kavanne et al due to their history and facts from the past. As a reasonable newbie, quotes like that won;t win you many friends - we all know people but that isn't a source (i.e. hard proof)
Regards to the cards, you're half right, however as highlighted in bold black above, YB/CB is actually moving to Mastercard Debit. Plus some of the Irish banks are retaining maestro for the moment.
Yea, the majority of main UK banks are moving to Visa Debit but that was really only HSBC Group & RBS Group cos the others already issued Visa Debit....2010 - year of the troll

We all are at our branch. In my opinion staff should be issued with them first as we'll generally be better placed to answer the inevitable questions if we actually have one ourselves.0
