My very best wishes to all concerned. Some counselling would probably be a good idea.

I am sorry for your daughter and all your family.

I know that it is early to be thinking of the next pregnancy but ensure that she takes the PRESCRIPTION folic acid, not the over the counter stuff in the future

AngelicMary, I totally agree with your sentiment but suggest you edit to re-word the first sentence of your last paragraph - it would be just heartbreaking for Saint Chris to read what you have written as I doubt her daughter feels that way. I know you didn't mean it literally, but in times of pain it would be hard to see past the literal meaning. I'm not going to quote what you said in case you do manage to change it in time.

SaintChris, my thoughts are with your daughter, I cannot believe the pain and sorrow she and you all must be feeling at the moment.

I've just read this thread and I'm sat here with tears in my eyes.

I'm so sorry for you all, I hope you can all be strong for your daughter as she will need you more than ever. I would definitely recommend counselling.

I made the same decision 4 years ago when I was 24 weeks pregnant, and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

Nobody in their right mind would think bad of your daughter for making her decision. It's such a selfless act making the decision to put the quality of your babies life before your own yearning for a baby.

I wish you all well, and hope you can be strong.

    Best wishes. xxx

I agree, no one would think bad of her, and anyone that did would be a hypocrite as this child would have had no quality of life at all. She has done the kindest and best thing a mother could do, ridding her child of pain and suffering.

I hope she does get some counselling though, as i'm sure she's asking so many questions with so many mixed feelings right now.

I'm glad I came back - you were right in saying what you did, it read differently to the way I intended it to.
